I forgot about that! I love their art and gameplay, so I can't wait to see how they approach the scifi genre.
I've played RB, but never bought any dlc for it. Additionally, I played on Wii last gen so I'll have to buy a new instrument regardless. I've always enjoyed the difficulty of guitar hero, plus GHTV means I don't HAVE to pay extra money to play new songs.
GH for me, but I'll get RB later. They're two different experiences, so it all comes down to taste really.

I never got "immersed" in the backgrounds of either GH or RB. Honestly aside from 1 or 2 songs (Bohemian Rhapsody) I dont pay attention to the background unless I'm not playing. I just enjoyed the gameplay of both series. So personally I'm unphased by the live action. It's just "different" to me.
I think both GHLive and RB4 are targeting different audiences and have different strengths.

Because, unfortunately, being funded doesnt mean the game will be completed. In theory, all the games/projects should be completed since a requirement for kickstarter is that the funds be enough to actually finish. However, in reality this isnt the case.
All we're "buying" is hope and potential...
That said, I plan on donating to this project. The team behind it gives me a good reason to hope.
Sunday-Thursday nights I usually play at least 2 hours before going to bed around 1AM.
I usually get 6-7 hours of sleep.
Daily life from 7AM-10PMish.
Friday evenings and the majority of Sat/Sun are essentially game/movie days.
Of course most things take priority over games, so if I have business to attend to I;ll put games aside in a heart beat.
I personally dont care if it came to ps4 or not. I just want it to come out. I just need a release date.
This is such a good series. Funilly enough, I got into the series because the combat and story depth reminded me of Shenmue, and I thought I'd never get Shenmue III....

I can't be the only one that likes to play old games without having to rebuy them. I still play my ps2, ps1, gc, and Wii games...
And I'd play my dreamcast and NES games if they were more dependable.

Seriously though, I was interested in this for YEARS and had almost lost hope. It looks like a fun game and I cant wait to get my hands on it.....in English.
True, but the potential to do so is definitely there. Only time will tell. I only hope gamers get off their duffs and buy it if the final game is anything like the global testfire.
To be fair, 3D models rhythmically rocking back and forth is also a gimmick. And honestly gimmick isn't a really useful description. Gimmicks are pretty much anything to make something stand out, be it functional or cosmetic. Using complex motions to do fireballs is technically a gimmick....
I almost always use my pinky. It's a matter of whether you want to shift once or twice. If it's a fast song with a ton of oranges then I have to shift twice and use my ring finger. Otherwise I just shift up and down one level and use my pinky for orange and blue.
Plus some combinations are ridiculous if you don't use your pinky: GYO, GBO, and GRYO (one song had that) are hard to do (perhaps even painful) without using your pinky.
I'm eying both but and leaning towards GH. I haven't bought a PS4 yet(though I plan to either late this year or early next year), but I have a Wii U. Rockband has a higher DLC library, but since I never bought any RB dlc on a playstation platform it seems like I'd end up spending even more longterm (controller bundle+dlc). GH comes with the subscription free GHTV so even if traditional paid dlc is offered my song library could still grow.

Finally, someone else who wants anime and j-pop/rock songs ("koi no mega lover" and/or "ready steady go" would be dope)....heck I'd love to see some k-pop, too.
Probably bigger textures and less optimization. No biggie as long as it plays well.
I doubt we'll see Mario, though it's practically guaranteed that we'll see mario clothes or items. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if mario & fkudd showed up for something.
And people wonder why games focused at kids dont have voice chat lol. This is what the adults do. XD
