Otherwise it would be the same old stuff. They need to add this stuff so we can make a distinction between them all (and there are a lot of them).
The thing I fear the most about this game is the never ending combo possibilities. Watched some games played by seasoned SFIV players who had 10 minutes with the game and it already looked like Tekken more than SF with all that juggle. Imagine what a few weeks of training will do: 100% combos à la MvC3.
