The only game I have ever played as a female (ignoring having a female in my party like in BG or DA and ignoring DOTA2) was Metroid. I think such a game would turn me off. As I can imagine being forced to play as a male might turn off many girls. MSFT did say that they were thinking of Minecraft as a new programming language and content creation system. Maybe instead of making $$ off selling Minecraft as a game they plan to monetize it as a platform.
Most people seem to be pretty happy with TLOU, HMCC, and GTA. They have sold well enough and received high ratings. In this case authors opinion is literally invalidated by millions of people spending hundreds of millions on these games.

The Order will be the second biggest disappointment of 2015. 6 hours of single player QTEs broken up with equal part on rail shooter and cutscenes.
The biggest disappointment will be No Man's Sky. A sandbox exploration non-game from a 10 man indie team. Everything is procedurally generated, with no thought put into it because they have a development budgets of less the $1 million. You want a good PS4 timed exclusive indie - checkout Broforce.

Man when I was a kid their was a baseball game where you could develop all kinds of super powers to throw flaming fastballs and hit monster dongs. That game was so much more fun then actual baseball. That and games like Blitz or NBA Jam. Not everything has to be hyper realistic. It's like people think if it doesn't look super realistic then it can't be good.

Every one knows VGChartz over tracks Xone by 100%. They have sold at MOST 5mm consoles. Their are warehouses full of Xones sitting there and gathering dust. One is next to my house. I counted and their were over 2 million units there. Meanwhile VGCharts UNDERTRACKS the PS4 by 300%. They have sold 50 million units and everyone knows it. All of my friends have 5 PS4s.
Author is an idiot. Gaming division made $400 million of profit last quarter. They could cut price by $100 per console and sell 4 million consoles and still be profitable. And that's ignoring the fact that their cost are declining very rapidly. Sony made only $200 million off Playstation last quarter. The Zone is cheaper to make idiots.

Absolutely amazing 5 week old COD for $20? SSOD and FH2 for $35. I wasn't going to buy any of them because I don't have time to play them. I'm only halfway through Dragon Age and Mordor. I haven't even started HMCC. But now I don't have a choice! How am I going to play all of this before a Witcher 3 comes out?

They aren't "creating" a universe. Its a randomly generated exploration game. A computer is generating the universe - and a lot of it will no make sense whatsoever or will be BLEH. Gonna be like SPORE or Starbound....
