Free Speech must be revoked to prevent Journalists from posting negative impressions of Sony games. We need to strictly enforce review embargos so that no one can read about a game until at least a week after launch in order to avoid pre order cancellations. Just let the hype build up in the fanboy's minds too unbelievable levels. Nothing wrong with giving a game premptive GOTY based on a 5 minute trailer. That can never go bad.
Looking forward to some fresh takes on both. The Order better come heavy with the gun play. If it's just more QTEs and cutscenes, it's time to write this game off.
I don't see anyway BB will be bad. These guys are following the same formula that made Demon/Dark good (but not great). The worst that could happen is pissing off hard core fans by being east or dramatically changing mechanics.
Are you kidding me? Yes there have been a few negative articles, but 3x more are overwhelmingly positive and most people are calling it GOTY (same with BB and NMS).
By comparison I have seen nothing about Ori, Quantum Break, or Fable. I've seen 1-2 articles on Scalebound, and we have seen a really cool demo of Crackdown. But comparing the hype on Sony Games vs MSFT games - the Sony games are setup to disappoint.
Compare the hype for Drive Club to FH2, ...
Anyone know a good getting started guide for this game? I literally have no idea what to do. You start in a space port that has no missions you can take. Either you don't have enough cargo slots, or the faction doesn't trust you. Making $ buying and selling stuff is impossible with 4 cargo slots. And even if you do manage to find a villa to kill, the targeting ultimately switches to an innocent or security force, and you end up with a bounty!
Seriously, this game...
Why does everyone on N4G seem to have a personal stake in the success or failure of this game? I get that people want it to be good. Interesting time period, cool enemies, great looking gfx. But we can't ignore the fact that the game play we have seen is terrible for most (not all) gamers. Telling journalists that they shouldn't talk about that is pathetic. Making up some lame as conspiracy theory about why a supposedly amazing game will get bad reviews is moronic.
2014 was only disappointing for Sony fans. There were a ton of great games.
Dragon Age, Mordor, Bayonetta, Mario Kart, SSBM, Titan Fall, FH2, Far Cry, SSOD, Hearth Stone, South Park, Wolfinstein, COD-AW.
Plus you had at least 3 great remakes in TLOU, HMCC and GTA.
You list is like everyone else that owns a PS4. The Order, Bloodborn, NMS and UC4. It would be a heck of a lot more interesting to hear people talk about other lesser known title...
We can surmise that Rare will release 2 titles in 2015 because they keep saying 2015 will be HUGE for Rare. 1 title isn't huge. We also know they did some trademarks around Battle Toads.
They make it seem like it's hard to find non-violent games. Sports, racers, lots of platformers, puzzelers
I'd like to announce that I will be making a big announcement next week about when we will be able to announce the launch of our game.
Really? How am I going to race on a giant chicken? If it's realistic how the heck will we be able to swing those swords? He'll how do you keep your head up with the weight of all the product you have to put in your hair or get those spikes?
Maybe the trailers are indicative of the game, and maybe the game will only appeal to a certain segment that likes QTEs and cutscenes. Look at Telltale. Wolf Among Us, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones. If the plot and characters are good we can get past the Press X, Hold Y thing.
However Telltale doesn't ask you to pay $65 for just 8 hours of video and QTEs. This game and No Man's Sky look like games that should cost $9.99 or $19.99
Excluding remasters of last gen games the Meta says
SSMB
Bayonetta
Diablo
Shovel Knight
Darksouls 2
Guacamelle
Mario Kart
Wolf Among Us
Hearthstone
Velocity
Talos
South Park
Titanfall
Mordor
FH2
amazing how many of those games I haven't played, so I can't make a fair argument against them.
I would make Dragon Age and Mordor ...
Atari 2600, NES, Gameboy, SNES, PS2, 360.
The problem with Metacritic is the small 1-5 man sites and the console affiliated sites. If you took an average of the 10 biggest sotes, it would be far better.
Or just base bonuses on SALES.
Outside the PS4 Sony really is in trouble. And PS4 is only 15% of revenues. Can't save the rest of the company. And debt holders won't let them spin it off or sell it because they want the collateral. After Sony goes under it will be the Google, Apple, Facebook or Amazon Station
Other then RPGs with amazing plots, i'd rather see sequels then remakes. I want a remake of Morrowind or KOTR. I want sequels to PGR, Mech Assault and Crimson Skies.
Save???? Sony is the one that needs saving. Article should read "Can the meager profits Sony makes on PS4 SAVE the company from billions of losses in TVs, Phones and other devices".
Ori, Fable, Crackdown, Gears, Chalice, Cuphead, Halo, Quantum, Screamride.... and many more.
Enjoy your lame ass QTE and cutscene BS, your space exploration simulator (carebear version of Elite), and Tombraider and Darksouls knockoffs.
Now THIS is worth getting excited for. Forget The Order, Bloodborn or NMC. And I AM NOT BEING SARCASTIC!
NONE - lets keep remakes to games from 2-3 gens ago!
