I agree... when Home finally hits, I expect MS to launch their avatar system. Regarding their console war with Sony, Microsoft said that they, "...will respond to the market." Even if that means free LIVE, and copycat features like Avatars and a new menu system for browsing the blades. The copycat principle is good though... it pushes them to innovate while maintaining popular standards.
Software sales paint a rather different picture, so I respectfully disagree.
Not that anyone recognizes respect up in here.
Yeah man, that was the point! When the PS3 gets everything currently available to Xbox users, then LIVE will have to be free. Competition is good, and so is constuctive critisism. I love my PS3, but if you think the 'in-game XMB' has the goods, you're deluding yourself.
RTFA!
Did you guys even read it, or are you just having a knee-jerk reaction to the title? At the very least, check out the last 2 paragraphs. You PlayStation cats can dish it out, but you sure can't take it. These critisizms will ultimately benefit all of us. The way the Sony kids are acting, it reminds me of when people said "Rumble is last gen", and declared, "I don't miss rumble." But now that the DualShock 3 is out, you eat it up and ask for seconds...
no
LIVE is still better, all fees aside.
And you know what else? Achievements weren't a big deal to PS3 owners... until Sony got them too. Now it's like Christ has risen again and endorses the PS3, to hear some of you talk.
You know what, though? Qore, which is a pay-for-ads service on PSN, has commercials for Burger King that you must watch before watching the ads you already paid for.
Is this site becoming N4PS3Fanboys?
Yeah the way I look at it, it's fun to see how many you can get, but I sometimes feel, at least with achievements, that they are only fun if people don't try too hard to get them. When you join an online game and it's full of people trying to earn some difficult achievement or whatever, it's cheating, and not much fun for the other players. Personally I never chase achievements, and hope that we don't see a lot of people chasing trophies on PSN. Let them occur naturally... just my 2 cents....
I really appreciate your checking up on that one... if it's true, DEFINATELY come back and post about it. I'm sure we'd all like to see that one!
Of course, as I said, I highly doubt that one.
the one where the guys says you can play the original Metal Gear in a sewer. Something tells me that we'd be hearing a lot more about that if it were true. It may just be a poster's cruel trick... trying to get people to search for hours without any hopes of success.
You never know though. I want to believe it, ya' know?
Good article. You made some great points in there.
And thegreatone... the numbers don't lie.
Man, when I play COD on Veteran (half way through atm) I feel like one of the guys at the beginning of Saving Private Ryan that gets killed getting out of the landing craft. It's insane! Hardened feels the best to me, at least with COD 4.
Man, I believe that the next Kojima game would feature Raiden. I hated playing with him in MGS2, but after that kickass cutscene for MGS4, it looks like he's shaping up to be a terrific successor to Snake. Here's hoping he doesn't have any more naked missions.
I assure you The Exploding Barrel WILL do reasons to hate shooters! Hell, we'll probably do all the genres.
Did you guys read the article? It's expresses concerns that Qore could open the door to charging for premium demos and betas, nothing more.
Xbox Live Gold charges money for early access to demos. With Qore, now Sony can follow suit. Whether they will do this or not is up in the air right now, but if you don't see the potential for them to hold premium content hostage on Qore, you didn't read the article. At no time did the author (me) suggest that Qore would involve char...
Look... a lot of people have taken the title out of context here. I wasn't saying that PSN was going to charge for online gaming, I was trying to raise the question, "Will Qore grant exclusive rights to premium demos (FFX III, Little Big, etc) that would, like Xbox Live's Gold Subscriptions, charge for early access to premium dlc, like demos and betas?" But that's where my comparison to LIVE ends.
Comprende?
Good point. If it's one thing gamers hate, it's speculation.

But overall Kat Williams tailored the comedy more to the game (mentioned liberty city a lot, which helped). Overall, I like Ricky Gervais better, but since he just recycled some old bits without working in GTA tie-ins, I suppose Kat wins this one.
Honestly, we are just using the contest to encourage each other to take Wii Fit seriously, and after a month of trying it out, we'll be able to comment on how effective Wii Fit is as an exercise device.
If you actually read the article, you'd see that it was actually a wishlist of PS3 features that any one of you fanboys would take in a microsecond if given the chance. The article is about healthy competition, which you'd know if you read the damn thing. If you can't concede that the PS3 has some room for improvement, and that it's improvements will benefit all gamers regardless of their hardware, then you're about as cerebral as a bucket of hair.
