Just out of curiosity, is this going to effect Xbox gamers all that much? The kinect missing that is? Doesn't seem like there is a lot going game wise for it and most of the gesture/voice commands I would have assumed would be used for multimedia. Sacrificing voice commands in-game for a visual boost (howeveer big or small that may be) seems like a good trade, although the lack of support for the device now I'd say is a bit of a downer
Yeah I'd imagine that a lot that were going to purchase may have held off to wait for the new X1 SKU, so they probably had a pretty bad run recently sales wise. It will be interesting to see if the system gets a sales boost with the kinectless option in the wild now. Still think its going to take a long while for MS to close that sales gap regardless
Where did you hear Gamescom was vita focused? With the change of tack Sony's had with their marketing I'm surprised they would be focusing on vita
500 million is the budget to evolve the franchise over the course of 10 years. I'm assuming you haven't played it yet man, I've just spent the weekend being very impressed by the game. Production values are amazing, music and visuals are beautiful, I had hours of play out of 1 strike mission and one short story mission. Couldn't be more excited....
Younger players tend to graduate from Nintendo systems consistently anyway, always have and always will. Tastes change so there is always a portion of Nintendos market that will jump the gap to a different system while new players come in to replace them. Not surprising that there would be a few converts out there
Mainly going to be playing on Vita too. There was a few titles like Beyond Two Souls I never got to on PS3 that I'm very much looking forward to on the small screen! I don't think it's going to completely reverse sales for the Vita by a long shot, but it could give it a significant boost. Match made in heaven...

True true. Was probably being overly harsh on the relationship angle, it's part of the deeper relationship system with the party I suppose as opposed to being tacked on.

Couldn't agree more about the leakers! I'm as bad as anyone for pouring over the stuff they put out but in a perfect world if a reveal took me by surprise instead of being expected months beforehand I'd be a much happier bunny.

Timing maybe? A lot closer to the holidays so might get the hype back to fever pitch after the dust settles from E3. Home turf for a lot of European studios too
Agreed. Lots of studios are yet to announce, Gamescom is going to be very interesting this year. Looking forward to seeing what Guerrilla does with a new IP

Bought a Vita day one and have never regretted it at all. I play mostly indies on the system and I'm loving the integration with the PS4. If I want a blow my mind action focused visual experience I'll fire up my PS4. Sure it wouldn't hurt to have more AAA games but it's a great system as is, even if sales aren't reflecting that. I think it's a smart move from a business perspective changing tack
Bungie really do have something special on their hands here. I played the alpha more than I would some full game releases and fun withdrawal is starting to kick in now that it's been cut off! And that was with under 10% content. The map in the alpha had 3 lonely icons, the map of Venus in the most recent vid released by Bungie has many many MANY more.
