Did the article mention anything about the SNES CD-ROM or if the focus shift was related to the Nintendo/Sony split?

I take your point that people can sink a lot of hours in, but I'd consider someone who owns three games and updates once a year a casual gamer in the same way I would someone who owned three albums as casually interested in music. I wasn't trying to say third parties weren't important, but extra defining experiences outside of third parties are what are going to attract hardcore audiences with high adoption rates (a lot higher than 3 a year anyway).

A little confused about the niche audience you refer to. Myself I would have thought the players buying just for Madden, COD etc would be at the casual end of the spectrum rather than the hardcore and not be nearly as discerning when it comes to graphical capabilities. The specs for the machine look great, don't get me wrong. I was surprised at the improvements they managed to squeeze in. But without the games to attract the audience I can see this being a bit of a misfire, especially whe...

It's early days for the tech, but it really isn't going anywhere. I do some development work for the industry and the potential is staggering, especially with some of the hardware refinements that are on the horizon. It was always sold as a 'slow burn' to my mind, by Sony anyway. There has been no major push in terms of advertising yet but devs are still figuring out things like interface and traversal. Fallout 4 fully playable in VR doesn't get you excited? What happens w...

I'd say this is more hinting at sparrow racing than it is the next game

Tell that to the good folks at Bioware that were involved in Mass Effect 3! We can either have crowd sourced opinions on design which makes many people as it can happy based on player base statistics or we can have artistic license where we trust a developer to execute their vision. You're going to have a vocal minority bitching about it regardless...

Gamespots review was on a debug PS4 with the day one patch. No mention of frame rate issues so you may not be forced to sit on the sidelines! They did say that there were some bugs but on par with any large open world game.

Crave Online put their review up early, was taken down but managed to get a cached copy- http://www.craveonline.com/...

"Conclusion
Bloodborne is yet another challenging RPG adventure by From Software. But instead of thriving on deep, captivating RPG elements it focuses on violent and aggressive combat. It’s a more drastic change than it may appear...

Still is a decent score, think a lot of people were hoping for The Order to hit it out of the park though. I'd be disappointed myself if it didn't do better if only because it showed such potential.

It's still only one review and one opinion so won't be making a decision just yet myself, but if other review scores were coming out at the 7.5 mark it wouldn't be an early purchase for me. Will probably pick it up eventually though when I've some money to ...

Starting to like Ru Weerasuriya the more interviews I read/view with him. He's less about marketing or PR and more about open discussion about what he's trying to achieve.

A lot of games are trying to be all things to all people right now, I'm sure as a developer it's hard with the amount of criticism that has been directed towards the game for focusing on doing just a few things well. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I for one wouldn&#...

After The Dark Below failed to deliver on the story side I tapped out. I was hoping they wouldn't just give me more reasons to grind.

Not disappointed with the game though, put an insane amount of hours in so got my moneys worth regardless! Here's hoping they turn it around with House of Wolves...

Review came from an unverified source with a new account on reddit, so may be premature to be taking the review as gospel just yet.

Hopefully it's not BS though, everything on the surface from graphics to overall aesthetic is looking amazing. If there's an even half decent game under the hood than I'll be more than happy!

@killacal13 You think "they" are hiding games from us?

Agreed, lets put away the tinfoil hats people. The gaming community is too incendiary as it is, clickbait and blatant flaming is getting ridiculous. Lets just stick to the games

They could be staying out of Uncharted's expected release window too. The last game was great but they've said it didn't do as well financially as they had hoped, it may have been a no brainer to take a timed exclusivity deal. I'll miss it coming to PS4 but as others have stated on here, theres going to be a glut of games next xmas and I can wait a few months if needs be

It's off the wall alright. If the memory and architecture isn't fast enough to deliver messages to the processor it doesn't matter how fast the processor is, it will only go as fast as the memory throughput allows.

Very true. The hype was nearly non existent before the alpha. It's people playing that are getting psyched for release, Bungie had confirmed that the MMO like expansion roadmap was the way they were going ages ago.

Personally I put about as much time into the Alpha/Beta in just one location (with very little MP) as I did for platinum in Wolfenstein. I'm in no way worried about getting bang for my buck
