Can't argue with your post.
Coming from a creative background myself, and less of a technical background, I do appreciate Sony trying new things. Is it really that easy to assume they wanted the entire world to "conform" to whatever they choose?
There's no doubt that they at one point "expected" the cell to be the next great thing, but at the same time you have to applaud them for taking such a huge risk. Their first party developers are on board ...
lol are just randoms on the internet who arent gamers but still read this site? :S
LOL
I know you're just looking for attention, so here you go.. poor guy :(
from a business standpoint. But you're wrong implying that Sony made a mistake. Sony is trying to evolve technology to the next level and using such advanced technology has proven to be worth it. The technological advancement that games like UC2 are quite evident and I don't consider it a waste of time. IMO Consoles SHOULD be of different architecture, consoles are a completely different medium and I think Microsoft played it TOO safe and stuck with something they were already familiar with. ...
You're correct. People also dont realize that the pre-rendered cutscenese are a GREAT thing for games. This allows for upcoming data to be loaded in the background and completely avoids load screens.
@ people complaining, you should hope more developers start doing this. This article has a negative connotation to it like Pre-rendered cut scenes are something the developer did as a copout or something they should hide.
Knew I read that from somewhere but didnt want to talk like I knew everything cuz I couldnt find the source haha
LOL wut?
Think about what you just said.. oh wait.
Ok i'll explain it. Sony's first part studios create games without SPACE in mind. They are able to do this because of Blu Ray being so spacious. They aren't limited by hardware.
Most 3rd party developers are developing multiplats which are first developed on the 360 and then ported over. Developers working on 360 games have to be very cautious about the amount of space used because DVD9 is very restricti...
wins this thread imo
Jijoro just got pwned
These news 4-5 weeks are going to HURT

It definitely is a more mature article than most I've seen recently.. but there is a bit of damage control as well...
swapping discs for me anyway isn't so much about the effort... I switch games in and out of my consoles all the time. The fact is, when I play the game I want to play from start to finish and then some. If I want to run to certain areas that I saw earlier in the game I may need to re-insert a different DVD etc?
Nevermind the laziness or convenience,...
I'd imagine it's more of a wait and see thing as the game coming out on Tuesday will be more than enough to let them know whether we want more or not i think?
Not sure though, I'm guessing because it's such a risk right now that Sony will wait, and if it takes off, we'll probably see a lot more Heavy Rain related content supported by Sony
FKIN awesome.. great, just what i needed, another game to be hyped about.

I think he was using a flare gun to "shoot" them
oh wait, you're serious?
I take it you have never played gow before
After going through the collection (still on gow2) the details are still pretty incredible. The games are so good I'd be happy if it looked the same as they used to, or gow3 was on a ps2 lol.
As for the quality, still by far greater than some games this gen, it's pretty crazy actually
Is to allow for the PS3 to load the next bit in the background. That's why there was no loading and no install.
if these guys even own a ps3 :s
