Some of you are pretty sad lol
This is nothing but good news. ND did a great job and I don't see how anyone ISNT inspired by their great work.
Also, INFLUENCE does NOT EQUAL COPY
and no, they did not copy the stealth aspect but were probably motivated by UC2 to up their game as far as voice acting, cinematic action and animations.
Im an apple fan, a graphic designer.. been using one since college...
I caught the live blog of this event and he talks about how MANY games developed for the iphone compared to the PSP and DS.
IMO quality > quantity but it's an obvious selling point for him..
I've never spent more than 15 min on an iphone game.. The only thing that catches my attention is when the graphics look insane for a PHONE and I feel the need to try it out because it looks coo...
Seems like someone is jealous of Jim Sterling's success as the Simon Cowel of gaming.
Seriously, Reading part of the article... I felt like I was reading a Sterling Rant..
True.
And like I said he tends to be a bit biased towards the things he likes anyways (why not).. so the title thing is yeah, a bit aggressive towards 360 only
I think it's pretty awesome that he's doing it though, especially because a lot of the times when I see people that talk the way he does they're normally huge crackheads doing nothing for their own good.
lol jus sayin
the part with the wrench and the brains and the seeing thoughts of the graphics and the... yeah.. LOL
I really do have to hand it to him though, the guy does what he loves to do, he's not afraid to show it. Though his content is sometimes redundant, and spoken in a grammar-less fashion, (speaking of grammar, i know) haha he does have the passion and commitment that a lot of people don't have.
For this, I respect him. I couldn't stand him when I first started coming t...
You're both pretty wrong. You cant just assume everyone who didn't believe the obviously enhanced videos that have been released are automatically fanboys of the PS3.
JTX same goes for you. For some reason, for SOME REASON, the people that defended Alan Wake till death are now acting like it's done in every single game and you knew (all of a sudden) that Alan Wake had them as well.
Do you really think you'd feel that way if Remedy came out and said the complete oppos...
Not many gamers do care really.
But when you have an article with 200+ posts, 95% of them are angry people comparing graphics (half being xbox talking down the ps3). You're going to get alot of people that want to rub it back in their faces for being so idiotic.
And when the developers themselves come out and admit it, there's really nowhere to hide lol
I thought the ff13 cutscenes were beautiful
I actually look forward to those in FF games, I think its a good thing... always nice to see what they can do in CG, its not like it takes away from their "skill" level, I think it lets them show exactly what their creative minds are imagining without being limited by hardware etc.
I dunno, its just become something i love about FF games..
Yup, true story.
Also, the god of war cinematics to me arent better than the gameplay.....
they both look the same, SM studios said themselves they didnt feel the need to "enhance" because the engine looked good enough.....
EDIT: exactly lol (below) Beat you to it :P
Yes, there are prerendered cutscenes in those games, but thats exactly what they were.
Especially god of war, nothing was "enhanced" visually, so what you see in the videos were literally how the game looked. the only reason they were prerendered was to save space and allow for loading in the background so the player wasn't interupted by loading screens.
The developers stated themselves that they felt the game looked good enough (which it does) that they di...
"At first glance, it looks fluid enough, but when compared to the graphical kings of the generation so far like Metro 2033 and Alan Wake, you start to see a pretty big gap emerging. Kratos himself could have done with some more work, as the 20,000 polygons used to create him are clearly not enough."
...I lol'd
and Sorry to keep this in the wrong direction, I may have to agree with Truth (i know i know) this was just too good to pass up lol.
Do...
well like I said, those were my original thoughts just because I had seen other companies doing it.. the battle initiation sequences in 13 sorta remind me of last remnant..
And I knew they weren't going with the unreal engine but I just assumed they were going with the whole "knowledge is power" theory and learning a few different engines + trying a few different fighting systems would ultimately give them more "knowledge" (and extra cash) and a better product...
were that all the mediocre RPG's they started releasing were just tests for the FF series... I noticed theres elements from infinite undiscovery, last remnant etc.. and they sort of took them all and made ff13.. including the use of different engines (Unreal) as experience.
Who knows though... developers do this all the time. Left 4 Dead was nothing but a tech demo using randomly generated content / AI etc as part of the test.. probably for HL
All i know is vsXIII a...

POKEMON? lol
This actually looks AWESOME. I hope it turns into a play create share type thing that lets gamers make their own stuff. I know it's just a PSN title but why not?
lol so many jokes in such a small amount of text
LOL touche, its even got a similar shape eh
yeah that'd be pretty sick
I'd much prefer my g27.. Only way I see move working is if they add something like nintendo did where you insert a move controller into a wheel... possibly the second move controller as a shifter?
Still, a wheel would be a lot better for this kind of game.. gas break clutch etc..
its pricey but soooooo worth ittttt
I'm no NATAL fan or anything, but you completely contradict you're own point when you say "the only REAL thing we have seen..."
Exactly. Microsoft hasn't shown us anything so how can you be so certain? we've seen NATAL at E3 09 and very little since then. Look at how much God of War improved in that amount of time?
It's not like Move showed us anything at all until GDC, Microsoft is doing the same.
Again, not a natal fan or a huge fan of the mo...
Am i the only one that would still try a pokemon mmo? It just makes so much sense for that kind of game..
I'd def revisit all the original regions lol
Nobody else to blame?
I'd put like 90% of the blame for mw2 on Activision.
EA picking these 2 is great.. they came up with mw1 that Activision was hesitant about approving. Mw1 was amazing, then they rushed IW to throw mw2 out the door.
When the exact same thing has happened to decent franchises under activision (guitar hero) how can you blame this all on the two IW developers?
