Not defending Microsoft, or attacking/defending either, more a jab at the persistent jibber jabber of gamers on N4G that are under the illusion the PS5 SSD is going to revolutionize gaming as we know it.
The Series X SSD gets constant bashing on this site, all the while the PS5 SSD get's hyped to high heaven.
And it all amounts to just 3 seconds.
Wait.. where have i heard that before lol (just kidding, a poke of fun at myself :p )
#disagreeatfacts
Exactly, how many times have they said MP will be using dedicated servers lol?
If you just press the xbox button and go to home, and you do not quit the game and just turn the console off, it will suspend the game if it supports the feature. It essentially starts using the feature as soon as you load a supported game.
All games that support quick resume will suspend in the following scenarios :-
1 - Powering the console down
2 - Dashboarding and not subsequently quitting the game
3 - Switching to another game/app
...
Quite simple really, there were 5 games that i played that utilized the quick resume feature that i was unaware of (only noticing after installing the update mentioned in the article, which shows you the games you have suspended)
I use the feature daily for the games i play daily (self explanatory), you do not have to do anything to use the quick resume feature, just dashboard the console, or turn it off, either way the games are suspended automatically, sometimes without y...
But yet your here, reading another article........
Any game installed to the SSD of either the Series S or X, has improved loading times, regardless of any patches.
The same will apply to the PS5, any PS4 game installed will have a reduction on loading time.
Once we get to the next-gen games with full PS5/Series S|X SSD optimization, loading times will be down to minimal levels.
Yeah i noticed this a few weeks back (i am in the preview program, so i playtest/report bugs on system updates before full release).
When you go on my games and apps, there is now a section called quick resume, i was shocked to find i still had 5 suspended games i had not played for weeks lol. All in all a great feature and one i use daily.
Cool story bro
So what do you call miles morales then? just asking?
What do you class as a "next-gen" game? according to your theories, there is only 1 currently on the market?
Is this the new downplay narrative? use the fact it is on last-gen as a reason to say it is not pushing any fidelity?
What you say of miles morales then? is that a last gen game? it is according to the logic you have applied here.
Is Raytracing on PS4 and Xbox one as well?
What about 4K? oh wait, base PS4 and xbox one are not even 4K capable.
Most of the comments on here are going to follow suit.
The Series X only has a 3 second longer load time as well, that next-gen SSD though right? /s
Cold war was my first COD since black ops 2, and it did not impress, same over promised under delivered rinse and repeat as normal.
If the MP has the same AI BS integration as every iteration since modern warfare 2, then it is not for me.
Promises "stunning visuals"
That is like me promising "wet water"
Sony figures - "wow, it is selling like crazy"
Microsoft figures - "these are over inflated"
@Paleblood
Nope, i think the figures are probably close, Microsoft have already stated the Series is selling better than the xbox one, just give them props for creating a console which is selling better, all while being in short supply.
Lol, like documents like these are not distributed by all business.
different models are always explored, and Microsoft have already made a statement saying they are not changing the percentage share.
Must be a very slow news day....
next....
Is Lara Croft "sjw crap" as well?
Outlast 2 first one i am downloading lol.
@Highrevz
I am not quite sure on the actual limit of games for quick resume, i will have to look into that. (i will open a bunch and see how many i can get in there, i have noticed mentions of 3, 5, 6 and even 12)
But no, resetting the console does not clear the list, you can unplug your console from the mains power, leave it off for a month, plug it back in and the games will still be in the suspended state. I think that is why a large portion of the SSD...
