It is the same approach as the xbox one console launch.
Not forcing you to buy a $5-600 dollar console to play 1 exclusive (spiderman) at launch.
Xbox users can upgrade down the line if they want, and can still play some games on the xbox one.
If xbox users wish to play scorn, the medium and the other series x only console games, then they will need to buy the series x.
Me personally am getting the Series X on launch ...
"late 2021"
So next year like minute man said?
@waverider
Does that mean Sony is set to make a bigger loss if they sell at the same price? Seeing as though the SSD will probably cost around double that of the Series X?
So they spend millions of dollars every cycle producing a new console to sell gamepass on PC?
Good logic that "sigh"
I think $599 would be too much, we know what happened when the PS3 was priced at $600.
I am going with max price for either at $549 with $499 being the lowest (£499 and £449 UK)
I would fully expect that to be the case as the tech is greater than that of the one X.
Just like the xbox one/x soc cost more than the 360 soc, the 360 soc cost more than the xbox soc etc etc.
This is always the case in manufacturing, bear in mind these soc's will be produced and bought in the millions, does not equate to a $100 price per console increase.
I am still sticking to a price point of £449.99 in the UK, and $549.99 ...
Probably because we have seen games available for the series x and the PS5
I do not need google, or a 5 minute search session to figure out what is wrong with a network or a router, it is what i do for a living.
@iretrouk
2.4ghz and 5ghz is frequency and speed.
2.4ghz is slower speeds at a larger range (through walls, different rooms etc)
5ghz is faster speeds at a lesser range (will struggle to reach through walls, into other rooms etc)
Whichever one you want to use is your choice, me personally will use the 2.4ghz and play in another room.
@iretrouk
you obviously either do not read and comprehend what people are saying, or you are just plain ignorant.
1) i personally had an ok experience with xcloud, on my mobile, on a 2.4ghz wireless connection, yes there was lag here and there but nothing game breaking.
2) i simply pointed out, that although you had a bad experience with using 2.4ghz, does not equate to 2.4ghz not working for anyone at all.
3) as i ex...
@iretrouk
You do know that the 2.4ghz and 5ghz is nothing to do with broadband speeds right?
Just the frequency that your router provides a wireless signal at?
Some people will have no lag using 2.4ghz, and some will have a lot, some it will be unplayable. Household appliances use the same 2.4ghz frequency which interferes with signal from the router.
Anyone knows this, so just because "you" had an unplayabl...
@crazy
PSNow is only available on PS4 and PC, xcloud is available on mobile, tablet, pc, and most other devices.
So until PSnow is available on all platforms, then yeah, it is currently superior in platform availability.
no iretrouk, do not lie
"XCloud on a 2.4GHz network connection is much less reliable than a 5Ghz connection, even when up close to the router. 5Ghz is def recommended. If your router has 5Ghz support, you're good"

I ran it on a 32mbps fibre connection (my router does not do 5ghz wireless, so was running on 2.4ghz), with little to no issues.
Must be another factor causing your issues Jin.
The series X launch will be fine with Halo being delayed.
The worst that will happen, is some people will get the console with the launch of Halo next year.
That is what it means.
Exactly Neo, that is why articles like this are pure fanboy diarrhea.
The article writer can not claim there is no 1st party launch titles for the series X, when no one at all knows the launch titles for series X.
I agree, i am getting the series X on launch day, regardless of whether Halo is delayed or not.
I will then buy Halo when it launches.
For a Halo fan, it is still as big a deal as it ever was.
For non-halo fans, not so much.
Day one buy for me too.
lol, this looks no where near the quality of the presentation, and how can the article writer say
"looking almost as good as xbox series x"
wait... what... have you seen Halo running on the Series X? no one else has.
