That's not a paid subscription though, so I don't see any problem with it, especially when the pro's heavily outweigh the cons.

You can compare it to Ubi's constant online DRM, but the difference is Ubi's method offered absolutely nothing in return, whereas b.Net, like Steam, will offer a boatload of incentives to use the free service.

They can handle WoW, I think they'll be fine. Especially considering the activation times are staggered.

I won't remind you about how far Australia is ahead then :P

Lol the cars control bad enough without snow being thrown into it :P

It would be a huge change for a GTA to be set in winter though. I think GTA has too much of a summer feel to the series for it to work though tbh.

Why would they do that?

Smells like stupidity to me.

I didn't realise those games were coming out on Wii.........

Really, reading an article before commenting isn't difficult.

Xiphos, you would be like the only person who thinks the Mako is better than the Hammerhead lol.

I think you're overstating the problem with PC games these days. Agree about running older games on newer systems, but the lifespan of a PC game is MUCH longer than just a few years.

I still play games like Deus Ex and the original GTA fine on Vista 64, and with how slowly the Windows platform is evolving, I would expect to be able to play these games for a long time to come.

As for the DRM bit, most companies relax their DRM requirements once a game has...

Always feel sorry for people who spend money on "gaming" laptops. Admittedly they are getting better, but still aren't worth the money people fork out imo.

I agree that there is more than likely a significant difference in the average age of console and PC users, but I don't think it has any real meaning in this debate. The best FPS gamers i've ever seen tend to be from say 16-25, mainly due to reaction times and time spent playing.

When it comes to RTS and other genre's, the older may have it easier in terms of it being an dis/advantage, but even so I think the controller issue is a much bigger advantage than any a...

I don't get the argument against pre-order bonuses tbh, especially when it's something as simple as a different paint job on a car that will be in the game for everyone else anyway.

Steam has definitely changed the game for the better. When it was first announced I hated the idea, but I wouldn't be without it now.

@ Mystic -

I personally wouldn't call it a gimmick. I actually see Kinect as a natural evolution of multitouch systems, and the flexibility that a MT system offers with the right software running it is amazing.

I've built my own MT table for music purposes and I really think that MT and real interactive interfaces are the way forward, and personally I think Kinect offers more in that regard.

You have no idea. Try playing some of these older games and you'll see how easy most games these days are.

edit - after thinking about it for a while, I honestly can't think of any game from the last 10 years that even comes close to these older games in terms of difficulty.

Hellfire on megadrive/genesis was amazingly hard. I don't remember playing a tougher (or better) shooter.

Yep, you're wrong on this one dchalfont.

The Cerberus code was given to every new version of the game, not just collectors/limited editions, and is still given with every new version of the game.

Yeah i've still got to get the Kasumi and Overlord packs, think i'll get all three at once and give it another run through.
