I've been playing games for a long time and none of those things were invented by Halo. All FPS games take things from each other. This is how the genre evolves.

What I was basically trying to say, without sounding like a troll or like I was trying to piss people off is how can a game like Halo, which through no fault of its own finds itself in a genre which has been completely saturated, and which most people have become tired of (linear FPS in general) actually manage to stand out as a fresh experience? The games you mentioned may not be absolutely the only games of their type but they all felt fresh. I'm not saying it is impossible since Wolfen...

I wonder how it can possibly get the near flawless expected score unless it makes some drastic progression to its core gameplay. The reason Halo 3 was such a hit is because it was fresh at the time, but games have moved on and unless this one brings a new set of ideas to the table it is in danger of missing the mark. Can a more or less linear shooter with a sci-fi story still sit near the top of the stack in the current climate?

I didn't play much of the reboot but I just assumed Tombs were in every Tomb Raider game.

One of the great things about the original Tomb Raider games is you had to use your brain. Shame that doesn't sell. Every game should have an option to remove all hints, tips, arrows etc.

One of the plus points: "Tombs are back".

Trump is perfect for America. He reflects the majority - stupid loudmouth idiots.

We all laughed at Bush. Encore!

They need to offer something to put it above Oculus. I am excited to still not be sure which choice to make. The competition will really drive the quality up. Since there is so much available already for Oculus, PSVR needs some high end exclusive material. If Oculus is predicted to debut at $300-$350 then PSVR cannot afford to be much more.

I didn't have a problem with any of those things. My issues were:

The gameplay is dull and uninnovative. It's not really any fun to play and doesn't take any new chances, doesn't feel fresh or bring any new ideas to the table. Nothing stands out or makes me want to go back and play it again.

If shooting enemies that all look and act the same, crouching behind things and shooting more enemies that look the same is fun to you then fair enough bu...

Some pretty worrying news regarding Shenmue recently. It sounds like production may not be going so well. Lack of funding and they're already telling us not to expect nice visuals. Just hope it doesn't turn out like Tony Hawk's 5.

People seem more interested in playing remastered games from last gen. The fresh lick of paint makes all the difference. I don't know about others but I keep my old consoles. No one is going to give me more than £30 for my 360 so why would I sell it?

3764d ago 4 agree0 disagreeView comment

I'm just saying wait until it's fixed and in the bargain bin for a few pounds and then let's see if there is any fun to be had. No one is fooled here. This is a flop. The gamers are the only ones laughing, this is a huge failure and I imagine a huge loss of money for Activision.

To be fair, it looks like a throwback game that's a bit broken. If you forget that it's meant to be a AAA title and wait until it's fixed and £10 - it won't seem half bad.

If it was true then the title would be a statement not a question. The answer is no.

Core gamers don't care about casual mobile games.
Shutting down production of all console games except PES is not being committed to core gamers.

Getting angry at someone else's list.....

I am just happy to see Braid on there. Loved that game. And also recognition for the original Super Monkey Ball - before the series went all tilt-controls and jump ability. Great arcade game.

I distinctly remember Pachter saying there wouldn't be a follow up to the Xbox360 or the PS3. Of course, Pachter is known for never ever being right.

If the future of gaming is mobile, it's because the future of people is idiots.

Mobile may have the numbers but it's only because people are such lazy sheep that they'll play anything that doesn't require any thought or effort to win. Games designed to waste time rather than for the enjoyment of playing them. And only a click away. Companies will always pander to this effortless demographic but it will never replace real games. Look at console sales and PC s...
