What excites me about the Last Guardian is that I have no idea what to expect. After ICO and SOTC who knows what's next? an entire generation in the making. Hopefully not a huge disappointment.

Are you serious? You think this looks good?

April.........fools?
Err.

Next gen? Like PS5 and XboxTwo?

It looks great but can't 'exceed the fidelity of cg movies' because they will always have the advantage of being pre-rendered. Not trying to be pedantic but it's a bullshit claim.

They shouldn't be afraid to make big changes. Push it further. It isn't about small tweaks and things like dedicated servers, it's about not being the same game every time. Just imagine if there was a wow factor again. Something we aren't expecting.

Good. I know I'm going to downvote hell for this but Resistance was the most run-of-the-mill shooter imaginable last gen. You duck behind cover and shoot at the aliens, then go to the next on-rails bit and do the same again. It was all the clichés and nothing exciting. FPS games really need to bring something new and exciting to the table, resistance never did. Dull.

The way they put 'will never work' makes it sound like they have made it for the ps3/360, but aren't sure it will work or not. Probably should test that.

My 2007 Ps3 died this year. I now want all the remasters I can get.

It depends what you are playing a game for. I loved Braid but I couldn't tell you what the story was even about. I just played it for mind bending time based puzzles which it delivered on.

However Portal's appeal was similar: mindfuck puzzles but it still managed to captivate me and presented one of the best characters in the history of gaming: GlaDOS.

The difference is the game WAS the story. There is no way you could ignore GlaDOS as she was your gu...

Like articles from The Onion, the entire joke is in the title. I'm not saying it isn't a funny joke, I'm just saying you don't need to read the whole thing.

Remember the promise 'The Biggest Surprise Ever' at E3? Still not sure what that turned out to be. Little hope that I will see 'The greatest games line up ever' like they claim. Point is: less talk more action. I don't care how much better Dx12 is GOING to make things I don't need to hear about the POTENTIAL power of the cloud any more. Maybe I'm going off on a tangent here, but I just want to see and feel something that lives up to any of the hype.

Would have been nice to see some gameplay side by side. Cutscenes don't really show frame-drop, pop-in etc.

Good gameplay sells - who knew?

They ARE powerful. Just because PC can and always will be the most powerful systems it doesn't mean these are not powerful consoles.

I don't know what people expect sometimes. Do you honestly think they are going to squeeze £1000+ worth of PC hardware into a console and sell it for £400?

same COD = complain it never changes
different COD = bring back the old one!

I'm always curious, as with the SMB64 remake how they get the movement and handling so close to Nintendo's originals. I'm not technical in these departments, but is it a case of taking the original code and somehow building a new shell around it? or is this all built from the ground up? Either way this is very impressive.
