My technology prediction:
A few people are interested, mainly niche market.
Then......
Apple releases massively overpriced, inferior headset, lacking key features and it sells like crazy.
People credit Apple for inventing VR.
Wow, great lighting. Looks like it'd take some serious PC power to run like that.
It's almost all in the lighting and reflections. It seems like the older builds have a huge number of visual effects enabled on absolutely mammoth PC rigs which would just not be possible on the average setup. They should still enable those modes for the small number of people with enough power though. Watch Dogs had to be modded and hacked to be closer to that E3 build but it showed it was possible.
The issue is PC games don't sell as well as console games so develop...
Find me a date where no tragedy occurred.
I'm with you on this one. I'm not saying it is possible, obviously, but at this stage in gaming, we should be past this obstacle.
Bored of this conversation already. Great E3 all round. No need for winners and losers. No need to choose a side. Vote with your wallet.
This is a free game running on an iPhone, right?
I get bored by what others would consider 'action packed' - the sort of scene that involves jumping onto a moving helicopter from the side of a building that explodes the moment you fly away. That sort of thing bores the hell out of me.
It was nice to see a patient, gentle, thought provoking, subtle game in the spotlight. It shows maturity in gamers and the industry. It shows that a showcase doesn't have to be all guns and explosions to grab attention.

Sure Halo and Gears new installments will sell plenty, but both are away from their original creators, and both are sequels that really aren't needed. Forza 6 is more Forza. These are all safe bets but nothing to really boast about.
What Sony showed were new, interesting experiences. Games where I don't even know what to expect, like Dreams, No Man's Sky, Last Guardian and Horizon. They may not all live up, but I am actually excited to play them and find out.
I'm all for backwards compatibility. My PS3 recently broke and I'm stuck in a position of "do I fork out (probably) at least £150 to get a new one? which I will only play once a month or so or do I just stick with the PS4 and hope my old PS3 favourites to be remastered?" I'd love the PS4 to settle my problem with BC but it will never happen. If I were an Xbox One owner I would be extremely pleased with this. There is no reason for the author of this article to worry...
If there isn't a remastered COD collection of last gen's offerings announced by next year then Activision are not as predictable as I thought.
I hope we can get to a stage where the fanboyism drops a bit. Both were great for what you're into. I'm not into Halo, Gears or Forza so MS isn't for me. Last Guardian, Horizon, Uncharted, Dreams all grabbed my attention though. There's no need to argue, both consoles clearly are starting to offer different experiences.
This year was the first E3 where I wasn't completely bored watching the stream. Still most excited for Fallout 4.

And my PC can take whatever I throw at it. This doesn't mean I don't get to comment on clearly misleading footage.
Massive downgrade. Even though this is a shitty quality video, a linked higher res one makes it abundantly clear. Check the e3 2013 footage for comparison. Never trust Ubisoft.
Bethesda set the bar high. I can't see much topping that all E3.
Holy shit! Fallout 4 looks fucking incredible.
Is this is the footage we will refer to when the actual game turns out downgraded?
Is it me or did that single player DOOM gameplay look a little rendered? Something tells me that is the unobtainable PC maxed out version that won't ever be playable until someone mods and unlocks it.
Many people are aware of the existence of a new Red Dead game. It hasn't been announced, of course, but Rockstar is a big company and word gets out. So yeah, it is happening.
Consoles SHOULD be more expensive. If you are hoping for truly 'next gen' graphics for the next Sony/MS consoles AND for them to be under $400 then you'll be disappointed again because it just isn't possible to match a PC for that price.
