Pointless? It allows pirates to play all the 20 or 30 games they couldn't until now. Even if it gets patched (which will take a lot of time), those games will still remain playable, only the ones released after won't, but then somebody will hack it, like they always do.

You don't need to update to play Uncharted 3 or any other game that requires 3.6x or 3.7x firmware. That was the whole point of this JB.
Like the last time, free software option will follow.

I had trouble choosing which console to pick up when Xbox360 and PS3 came out. I was worried with stuff like the user interface, gamepad, console GPU and CPU, etc. Then I realized it's all the same, and that stuff won't make gaming better.
It all came to games and nothing more. Multiplatform games are on both console but exclusives sealed it for me. And any ubiased gamer knows that most PS3 exclusives outperform and outnumber those on Xbox360 (and I can play some Xbox exclusiv...

I played it, and the mechanics are a lot simmiral even though it's a 2D game. The game is awesome but it if it wasn't for the huge financial success of Minecraft this game wouldn't exist.

The correct analogy would be that you replicate the car without actually stealing it.
Pirating is illegal but ppl should stop thinking it's the same thing as stealing.
This was all fixed in 1.7.2 patch which came a day later.
