Your statement is exactly what the Wii-U was to PS3/ 360. It was more powerful than the last gen and easier to port to, but it still did poorly. Unless Sony and MS just completely ignored it and waited a few more years to release their own consoles, Nintendo's console would still share the same fate as the U. Nintendo's best bet at this point is to keep making solid AAA exclusives for the Wii-U, continue making solid long lasting DLC expansions, and build up on Amiibos seeing as those...
Cool that it's the best selling Wii-U title, but it's not even close to Brawl's numbers. Brawl opened up with over 1.6 million it's first week in the US. This is just over a 4th of that. MK8 is on track to be the worst selling MK title to date, and it looks like the same story for SSB. Even worse, this most likely pushed very few hardware numbers.

Well, even with a first year that contained some droughts here and there, I still have zero regrets for my purchase. At least a not so amazing first year means things can really go up from here, and 2015 is showing a shitton of promise for PS4 owners. I, for one, am excited for what's coming.

Knack, definitely. Killzone... Eh, though I wasn't a huge fan, I'd say CoD: Ghosts was a far worse launch FPS than Killzone. At least Killzone featured new gen level graphics, and played pretty well. Ghosts was literally a shitty last gen port.
The Wii-U barely sold a 5th of XBone just this past week. Unless Wii-U, itself, can sell well over 500K more units than XBone next week, then there's chance in hell of it ever catching up. Wii-U will get a hardware sales spike from SSB, but it still won't even touch PS4 or XBone, especially with Black Friday right around the corner.
I hope it's not just Free-to-Play. If they released like a version for $40, that comes as like a start out kit or something, I'd buy it in a heart beat

M$ could dump everything they're doing with XBone in the rest of the world and devote 100% of their efforts to Japan, and the system STILL would not sell there. The Japanese are unbelievably picky about what they buy and foreign products have never done well there. It's just the way they are.

I personally loved Starhawk. The SP might have been kind of shit, but the MP was brilliant because of the build & battle system and very balanced gameplay. I really hope there's a sequel in the works for PS4.

True. Probably means the PS4 has sold A LOT more. Though, to be fair, VGC hasn't been doing terrible this gen. They've only really been off by some few hundred thousand units.
