While I agree COD is light on thrills while Battlefield pours on the awesome explosions etc. The gunplay in Battlefield games is not as tight or responsive as MW's.
Just look at how they are touting the M1911 in that article. $100 says it will be the same cap gun we saw in BF 1943. Nine times out of ten, you will be left saying "What the hell!" after unloading 3-4 rounds into a guy just to have him take you down.
I really hope they don't bother with weapon/armour packs on their own. Just add them in with level expansions and character add-ons. It gives people a better motivation to buy.
I got this at Blockbuster Canada for $69.99 so I'm happy.

Of course FFXIII will have the best gameplay. You collect CP, what could possibly be better than that?
I like the April release date. Gives me time to play Mass Effect 2, Conviction, Bioshock, etc and still have to time to play them thoroughly before even starting XIII.
You can beat down by pulling the right trigger when you are facing an enemy. The slam to the floor sometimes!

Agreed, it's clear a huge effort was made to make this a great shooter.
My big problem was the voicework! Since when does Shepard grunt like that when he is hurt? It's only him and Thane, so who sounds like a lame Marcus Fenix wannabe?
These are husks. Zombies don't do too much better either.
I played Dead Space with headphones, and didn't get really scared. Play it on the harder difficulty to ramp up the dread though. Less ammo always means more fear!
It may be true, older characters like Sam (and Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino) are known to sacrifice themselves for the greater good.
This game would likely be a great send off for Sam if they chose to go that route. Just don't make the next Splinter Cell a whiny twentysomething or a Nolan North stereotype.

Urgh this infuriates me. I'm no fan of "kinda cool" multiplyer add ons. A few nights of semi-laggy light online fun does not compare to an extra 3-4 hours of highly polished single player.
