When I first saw Gears of War I thought 3rd person Unreal Tournament.
Think about it the engine, graphics, armor, worlds, etc. all look the same.
Also I was never really a fan of the reloading mechanics.
(Like how you have to time the reloading on a bar to reload quicker. Never understood it.)
Even in Bulletstorm I saw similarities to Unreal Tournament like I did in Gears of War.
