Go ahead and add a reworked 1080p version of the Gears trilogy sometime soon, sales will be used to offset the franchise IP purchase and development of the next Gears title.

Ready at Dawn appears ready for the big leagues, its their chance to shine. Their work on PSP titles was known to really push that platform, so if it turns out their console titles are close to ND quality thats a big plus for Sony. I just like that its a new IP.

It's a pretty decent shooter to launch a new generation. It diffently had the graphics to back it up. The universe, atmosphere, and gameplay is up to the player to determine if that appeals to them. Same with a game like Halo, believe it or not some don't care for that franchise or universe.

We will probably see a reworked version of the Gears trilogy at 1080p for X1 kinda like the way Halo Aniversary was done. Sales from this will help finance the next Gears game. At least thats my prediction.

There was a nice discussion about the Gears franchise on the latest Giant Bomb weekly podcast. I agreed with alot of what they said. The trilogy wrapped up everything nice and tight so where would they take the series and what could they do where we fans would actually care? What could they change about the gameplay, as it seems all third person games have ripped off the cover system. Really what is there left to do then to artifically extend out franchise to sell more copies.

It's EA I am confident many updates will be needed.

Of course they are in bed with each other, Former Xbox head Peter Moore is COO at EA and Don Mattrick, who was head of Xbox probably when this deal was made was a big executive at EA years before.

They were in bed and it almost smells like collusion, which is a form of fraud.

If I was a betting man, my bet would be online problems just like all EA's crappy online required games in recent memory.

I can't understand anything you say. There is not a complete thought or complete sentence structure to read and understand in this mess you posted.

My point was Titanfall isn't the first game to have pilots running around and getting in mechs that has been done for over a decade. My other point was it was mostly online with mechs battling for control. I never compared the first person vs third person perspective just like I wouldn't compare it to Killzone 2's multiplayer even though it was first person and had mech. Use your brain and think about peoples comments, not everything is always spoonfeed.

Innovative...yeah no! It's cross between MechAssault 2 (you got out of your mechs and into others on the battlefield) and COD. MEchAssault also had a persistent online war between three factions online that battled for control of the planet.

There is no reason for this game to be behind a paywall other than the fact that MS Live is a closed system and you will never get any of these services for free from them, even though you can get access for free on PS4 and PC.

It is pathetic, you have to pay MS just to have access to pay for access to the game.

After the annoucement of Gears purchase yesterday and the rumor Crackdown 3 might be showing up soon, Sony might want to start annoucing some games if they want to maintain momentum.

Here is to hoping that EPIC can make a new game and has not been gutted since the Chinese Investment firm purchased 40% of EPIC games in the summer of 2012. Cliff B, R. Ferguson, and Dr. Capps have left, People Can Fly was dissolved, and they sold off Gears franchise. EPIC hasn't made and released a game since the Fall of 2011, thats 2 1/2 years now. Hope they can still make a AAA title.

Please correct me if I am wrong Gadenbrah, but I don't think any of those six new IP's are first party games. I want new IP's from first party AAA development houses.

That was a very good article and thoughful read. Read it with an open mind not fanboy goggles, its good. I particularly liked the point about hoping MS doesn't "Rared" Black Tusk studios. Black Tusk Studios was formed in 2012 and it was announced they would be making new world class AAA IP's. I like the author hope they are not now pigeon holed into being the Gears studio like 343 Studios is the Halo studio as long as it exists. I want to see new IP's from great dev...

LOL another equity manager thinking he knows what "junk status" means. IT refers to their corporate bonds and has nothing to do with their equity position or stock price, idiot.

I am not arguing wether it was worth it or not, it diffently is alot of cheddar, but for $100 million you could development a new world class IP like Watch Dogs that has more future upside and no franchise fatigue. I enjoy Gears but after judgement I felt some franchise fatigue and would be just fine without another title for many many years.

Although I would miss Sony products like TV's and such, they might be better served to slash those segments as the competition is just to cut throat.

Sony should focus on their gaming, movies, and music segments and reorg into an entertainment company and get back on their feet. If they decide to get back in those businesses in the future so be it, but for now they should cut em.
