I wasn't saying that fallout is a bad game or that some of the bugs weren't understandable (they could've fixed a lot of the easy to find ones before release), neither was I comparing it to Dead Island.
MysticStrummer said Dead Island was the buggiest game he played and I know that the buggiest game I ever played was Fallout 3 followed by Fallout NV, see the connection to my post :)
never played fallout 3 did ya?
I thought the combat was pretty decent, I play on the PC so I don't know if that makes a difference. But I learned which weapons had range and how to hit and fall back and of course use your kick which is invaluable.
I also found the game to play and feel much better when you reach act 2, I'm a ways into that one right now and my enjoyment of the game increased quite a bit.
But I can see how people are turned off by it but I like it a lot and the mele...
nope it came out after the drop, always was $299
@snipes101
I bet you don't play many new and old JRPGs, especially square/squareenix games, 3 forms were kinda the standard for most last bosses :)
thats the thing, from the reviews I read they haven't done anything special to differentiate it from the other gears games. Its not a bad thing as the high scores across the board shows but its not a new level for gaming either. Gears 1 redefined the 3rd person shooter but Gears 3 is just a refinement of that formula not another leap.
yea PS3 users get shafted with the trophy list while X360 owners get a full 1000g per game and we can't even get 1 platinum trophy much less a full list.
I still find it overpriced, at least not for the length considering the simple gameplay. Its a downloadable game and they know it and thats why they're throwing in the fruit ninja and dlc, but that's only what? 15 bucks of content so its still probably 15 dollars over priced and if you already own or don't want fruit ninja then its even more.
the collection I believe
Far Cry binoculars were very useful, tagging enemies were a must and binoculars were the way to do it.
yea because it happens SOO often right??? People like you really make all gamers look bad, taking one example that's the exception and prop it up like its the norm.
You know who else does that, those politicians who take one game and use it as the blueprint for all games saying they are corrupting the children etc.... hows it feel to be compared to those idiots?
haha yea, nothing beats Going Commando for me, the best R&C game and probably one of the best platformers ever. I see what you're saying and no doubt that this will be for boosting interest in the game by giving people a chance to play a piece of it but its still a beta but yea its a moot point now, I mean either way its a good thing.
I really am worried about All4One though, I just haven't seen anything on it that made me excited like any of the other main R&...
the game is over a month away from release, it will be a beta as they will be testing online gameplay and fixing and changing as they go along before final release. Thats what a beta is isn't it? and for a game like this especially online is paramount.
But we agree on one thing Insomniac is awesome, though I'm still not convinced on this R&C game as a massive fan of the series.
@joab777
Blindsided by Square Enix???
I think you're giving Gamestop too much importance, they aren't the only retailer in the world(or US in this case) and I doubt SE took the time to consider every single retailer and whether onlive was for a rival company.
SE actually gave customers a nice bonus with the onlive game and Gamestop then decided unilaterally that they don't have the right and kept it from the customers. That's tamperin...
I heard a lot of people stopped playing around Mexico, I almost stopped there myself but I enjoyed it enough to get through it, now if only I can bring myself to go for the platinum.
I agree, I play it on occasion, I like the game but its not something I can do over an extended period, only short bursts and in between other games, that worked for me, still haven't completed it yet but I'm getting there.
@newn4gguy
I don't like people touching my game, I don't know what they did when they open it , they probably had to open hundreds, who knows how they mishandled my game. If they told people before buying what they did then I'd be ok with it, but I want my game new and untouched by some Gamestop employee, that's what the plastic is for.
It might be a small thing to most people, but if I get a new game then it should be as it was when it left...
I lost the first sidemission because of the 15 mins thing. I didn't restart as I found it a nice touch and I'm a bit of a SOB.
Link to the past definitely was the pinnacle of SNES gaming, for me it was a toss up between that and Chrono Trigger and if either was first I would be happy as long as the other was second. I actually agree with this top 20 with the top 5 being 5 of my favorite games and I have played and loved most of the other 15 (especially mario RPG and mario kart).
Adva is right, the major retail outlets will put pressure on Sony to get the same pricing for games no matter the format as not to adversely affect physical media sales..sucks for us but understandable from a retail outlet point of view.
