Yeah the game was great. It was a good fit for the wii. Shame Nintendo and Capcom didnt stand behind it.
Gonna assume you don't know anything about the game then. The game doesnt contain motion controls and was launched with the new Classic Controller Pro.
Yes you can say that the fanbase is with the sony brand but that's the psp. Last time I checked not every psp owner owns a ps3. So I don't see why putting it on the wii is screwing the fanbase. The games never sold that well on ps2 anyway. They only started selling like crazy on the psp. I would bet that more people in japan own a psp and wii then psp and ps3.
Its funny because you say no way it would have dropped that fast but the newest MH has outsold all the ps2 versions....
Because people would have complained about the graphics if they just ported it over. I dont think capcom saw it as a good use of resources when there was no proof that it would sell well on the ps3. Since the ps3 doesnt have a large install base in japan and this series doesnt tend to sell well out of japan. Im sure it would have moved plenty of copies and system on the ps3, I just doubt it would have been any better then the wii.
I dont know if it would be big, the previous ones never sold that well on ps2. The series didnt take off until it was on the psp.
I dont understand how some sony fans can be so stupid sometimes. 800k is great for any game. The game has traditionally sold better on handhelds then consoles in previous installments. Didnt the ps2 one sell like 700k. So I fail to see how they screwed the fanbase? The fanbase was apparently not on the ps2 to begin with.

I just always thought it was weird that they put two different color Toads. They could put other characters in, at least have 4 different characters not just a different color one.
The global will go down eventually. The problem is that 360 is so strong in America and handhelds are so dominant in Japan. Sony needs to get back and fight better in Japan, I assume a price cut will help this. They always see a temp spike like a few months ago when the ps3 had outsold the wii in 2009. Riding the RE5 and SF4 software lineup. Though since then the wii has just crushed it once again. Especially with the almost 100k it just sold last week.
Definitely true. Knew Nintendo was doing things right to make sure this ended up in lots of gamers hands. No reason to have a new product without a good plan to get it in their hands. Id expect Nintendo to get somewhere close to a 30% adoption of the m+ with all these bundles. Could be more and should be more but you never know.
Would be nice for Christmas if they dont do a price cut to bundle resorts in and keep it at the 250 price range. That way people would be very happy ...
Could be any number of reasons you are right though it would sell systems. They could have felt that vast majority would want it on the ps3 anyway. Though considering Id say most of that 1million own the 360 for the rpgs that came out it would more then likely be worth squares time. Could just be sticking with a company that has brought them so much success. Who knows sure theres some back door deals going on there.
Because if they want it in Japan they will buy a ps3. America and the rest of the world is understandable. Since there are so many 360 owners just not worth it in Japan. Im sure most people would buy it for ps3 in japan anyway.

Been curious all week what the affect of launching a black wii with MH3 would have on its sales.
I knew its sales were gonna be huge, but almost 100k is crazy. That is more then its sold in the last 4 weeks combined. Now we shall see how long this spike will continue.
See this is what I was saying. Its difficult to make sure an accessory for a system makes it into so many hands to make it worthwhile for developers to include it while making a game.

I loved DKR as a kid, was a lot of fun to be able to choose the different vehicles and more powerful weapons. At least it got a remake on the ds but it just wasn't as good.
It was a good read till you got to turning tide and the writer started to show its bias. No doubt that the ps3 has kept up with 360 even being more expensive. Eventually it will sell more then 360 since at some point the Japan sales should take off. Though to say that it will turn around and crush the wii is a bit of a stretch. I think a price cut and a continued spike in sales would cause a reaction from Nintendo.
I also don't think ps3 motion control was in development long...
When seeing it was ps3 only I thought there would be a mention of Eye of Judgment.
So now will people wait for the slim or just get a system now?
