Bought a PS4 first but having been saying that WiiU will have the best year. In terms of number of exclusives, pricing of past hits and general low cost of entry.
In the US Melee came out about 2 weeks after launch. I would say that game led to a substantial amount of system sales.
For the Wii U it should entice a portion of gamers to buy a system.
Would imagine there will be a DL bundle also. If the price holds fast not a BSD deal.
I think the game combined with Mario Kart coming out should push the install base over the 10 million mark in 2014.
Based on that video it looks just like a regular 3rd person shooter. A beautiful shooter yes. Still excited because I like the art style and have a PS4.
I don't have a problem with buying launch. Usually get one system at launch a generation. That being said my Xbox, GameCube, GBA and Wii are all day one and completely functional.
As far as games, that is what always happens. This is the first generation where the launch window did not have something amazing.
Not really been the case for me. Wii Sports, Halo and Melee(2 weeks after) were all fantastic launch games.
I said I would hold off until a bundle and didn't expect one this early. Done deal, nextgen collection complete.
You also cannot sell it.
Game has some framerate issues. The best port was on the original xbox.

I'm just glad he said that EA gets undue anomisoity towards it. Which I completely agree with. Is it a great company? No, but not nearly as bad as people want to make it out to be.
As for Battlefield, I've been playing it since launch for PS4 and maybe because of how broken it once was I'm a bit jaded now.
I have had the single player beaten for months without issue. The online has had minor quirks but hasn't been crippling for awhile.
Why is it a problem? They are still contributing profit and sales of a franchise. Unlike a used game buyer.
I work 50+ hour work weeks and have social engagements. I don't buy games for full price because I do not finish a large chunk of them, but I put around 10+hours on average into a game. At that point if I bought the game for $30 I paid roughly $3 hr to play. Less then a typical movie. That is my value.
I have expendable income and a love of gaming. ...
1. 360 fans that plan to buy a One and can afford it, possibly already have bought it.
2. If they couldn't afford it, not a ton of time has passed.
3. If they can afford it but waiting for time on the market to work out bugs and failures, not much time has passed.
Close to $600 to play a game that is essentially the same as one on a system they already own.
I think this game will boost sales, but not certain by how much. Microsoft has bran...
Will definitely move systems, but the fact that it is launching on 3 systems will impact it.
There are close to 80 million systems in the wild that can play this game already, will be a deciding factor for many.
I do not however know enough about the differences between the different builds.
This article would be more interesting if you know these systems had been on the market for more then 2 months.
Not every character is always brought back from game to game. Nice for fans to know a character they enjoy is bring brought back.
I don't mind how they do this. Feels much more like the developer is communicating with the community. Plus it does well to keep the hype going.
Not sure if it is the best or not. Brawl had a bit to much hype and never was going to be able to live up to expectations. Loved the game though.
Not to mention I question the motives of a legal team trying to do a class action lawsuit without a Claimant.
I wouldn't really consider this insider trading. The company's stock had tanked and was at an almost all time low last summer. Since then it had steadily grown until around this time period. Hence a lot of people were buying up the stock because it had been rising for 12 months straight.
Fact I was tempted to sell all my shares then because I was at 120% profit on my shares.
The recession decimated a lot of peoples retirement savings who were heavily ...
Its nice to see an amazing game get recognition. I just don't see what the big deal with goty awards are. If anything it should just convince people to take a look at a game they might have passed by. It isn't like its a greenlight to make a sequel or everyone who worked on the game get a bonus(Sure that could be in some contract). In the end what does it matter?
Spin off not direction.

PR alone has been truly beneficial. I've had a PS4 since launch and have been given 4 free games.
I agree with the entitlement part. There was grumbling that nothing came out on December for free on PS4 even after launching with two free games in November.
The sustainability goes hand in hand with market share. If market share isn't there then the cost of this service becomes less desirable for Sony.
Just seems to me that Sony learned...
