Your absolutely right, many lesser titles have ended up on the scrapheap for lesser offenses. It's a real shame as the game is terrific in places but for my money is badly hampered and let down by frustrating inconsistency throughout.

I was in sneak mode earlier and I got spotted, so I retreated back a few paces behind cover and lo and behold, the enemy patrols instantly returned to their prior status and forgot I was ever there. It's often, not at all clear where y...

I'm not surprised, the game seems rushed and lacking in polish in numerous areas. I actually paused the game just to make this comment.

I'm playing on ps4 Pro with a 4k HDR set up and the game and textures look so bland and blurry in places. I thought I must have had the game at the faster framerate setting, but no, I hadn't and the game does genuinely appear to be a very mixed bag visually in sections.

The enemy AI is laughably atrocious and ...

I'm perhaps just a little jaded with these games, the core mechanics don't seem to have progressed much since the reboot in 2013.

The graphics to me are inconsistent, one minute the game can look tremendous and pin sharp, then in an instant it can appear somewhat bland and blurred, perhaps as a result of a dynamic resolution at play. There also, in my opinion, looks to be something a little off with the character models and facial animations in this instalment. ...

I'm currently playing the latest Tomb Raider and after completing the astounding Spider-man earlier today, my initial impressions of Tomb Raider are not positive.

I'm no technical wizard, but the graphics appear to me, to have taken a step back from the previous instalment, as to my eyes, the game looks a smidgeon blurrier. (Playing in 4k hdr setup on pro console)

After the silky smooth, buttery control of spidey and then playing this title, the g...

If i was Sony, this Shuman chump wouldn't get near a televised, or otherwise media production ever again after that. I remember this unprofessional buffoon last year getting just about everyone he interviewed names wrong, even though he had them written down in front of him. He seems like a nice enough fellow, but his gaming ignorance is astounding, considering his profession. After watching that, he just destroyed the minuscule shred of credibility he never had.

In the above gameplay video link, game director John Garvin mentions that they already have the game at a locked 30fps -- around the 45 sec mark on the youtube vid above. To me, the game looks fantastic and i can see big improvements over the recent Game informer footage, plus they have over seven months to polish the game.

What the hell were Sony thinking? They are one of the biggest media companies on the planet with countless Hollywood movies under their belt and this was what they came up with. Whoever devised that format and the person who gave this the green light should get the boot. Do they not plan these bloody things well in advance?

Please understand, i'm not having a dig at the games on show, which all looked remarkable but the awful way the fractured production was put togethe...

There was nothing shown in that conference which set my world on fire and would make me consider a purchase to the green side. I watched it an hour ago and i'm struggling to remember anything that stood out to me. I'm not trolling, if Sony's conference is also mediocre, i'll criticise them in equal measure.

Thanks for this information Goldby. I never realized that there was an option to turn off the lock on cam. Gosh, the development team really have thought of everything, I tip my hat to them in appreciation. Cheers and thanks again as this will make a certain encounter a whole lot easier for me.

I have completed the game and absolutely loved it, but if I was to have one smidgeon of a gripe, it would be that during some intense boss encounters, the camera would lock in toward my foe and make it rather cumbersome to pick up a much needed drop of health at the last second, leading to my at times unfair demise. Other than that, for me, what the developers have achieved, is nothing short of astounding.

Krysis it was either niggle or quibble and niggle won out on this occasion! My only other slight smidgeon of a grouse, is that the world map can be very cluttered and quite difficult to see at times. Have a great week.

Yeah the photo mode is absolutely top notch. I have used a saved pic of Bayek at the top of a certain structure as my screen saver. I'm glad your having as much fun with the game as I did.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game and for me it was way better than i was expecting. I eventually got the platinum after a few weeks of play. At first, I wasn't too sure about the combat, as it didn't seem to have that instant gratification of chaining together visceral and dynamic moves in melee combat like prior titles.

However, before long, I managed to level up my character to a degree whereby I was despatching enemies in fantastic style and chaining together all m...

Sincere apologies dear chap, as i was hammered on rum when i wrote that twaddle. My lame excuse, is that it's Christmas and the silly season. In simple layman's terms, what i was alluding to, is that certain sites are forensically breaking down the graphical details of titles. While i concede that this is very much appreciated in some quarters, for me however, it has had the opposite effect and worn me down, when i'd rather sites concentrated on the essence of the magic of the ga...

All this fu(K!Ng garbage has just about sucked the fun out of gaming for me, with those knob jockeys at digital foundry making out that you have purchased a $h !T show, if it's of a lesser resolution or fps. These boring fu( K$ are wrecking the industry. Just to be clear i own an HDR 4K set up and own all the consoles, so i'm not in any way picking sides. I just wish we could get back to talking about the games themselves, rather than some spotted freckle faced d!(khead pretending tha...

I'm playing on the Pro with a 4k tv set up and i'm certainly not going to get into any technical arguments between various platform versions, other than to say that this game is an absolute powerhouse and marvelous feast for the eyes. For me, it is every bit as visually pleasing as Horizon Zero Dawn. The world that the developers have crafted is incredible and vast and for me, is only bested by GTAV, in part due to the density of the world and sheer amount of things going onscreen all...

My copy arrived a day early this morning. So far the game has been absolutely fantastic. The graphics, polish and presentation are all exemplary throughout (I'm playing on Ps4 Pro on a 4k HDR TV). The levels are a lot larger and less linear than the first game with plenty of areas to explore and collectables to amass. The shooting action and gory kills are all top notch and the new arsenal of weapons are amazing.

The most pleasing aspect for me, is how buttery smooth th...
