This game just keeps on giving with these goodies. I got to don a pornstar moustache and put on my Hawaiian shirt and pretend to be Magnum with the Ferrari GTO. Then I kept the pornstar tache & changed to a western shirt to pretend to be big Burt with the Pontiac firebird.

Now it looks like i'll have to ditch the tache and put on my roll neck sweater and tweed blazer with the elbow patches to pretend to be Steve in Bullit with the Mustang.

It's between Spiderman & God Of War for me. I enjoyed spidey more and it was immense fun throughout but in the end, I'd have to give it to Kratos by a bearded whisker.

It took the series in a bold new direction and had innovation in abundance, with special mention going to the single camera tracking shot from start to completion.

Although Red Dead had a spectacular world to play about in, the game ultimately fell flat for me, with it's poo...

In short, I'll translate what you are saying.

Our game controls like $h!t, but pretty please, lets make up any garbage excuse to let them off the hook.

I do not wish to insult your intelligence, as reading your above remark, you come across as an astute and erudite commentator, but where I disagree somewhat, is in your going over the top, reaching attempts to find and make excuses for the glaring faults that this title has.

I rega...

I had to really struggle and just about force myself to complete RDR2, which ultimately, I found to be a joyless and tedious experience that outstayed it's welcome with it's padded structure & story. The world, that development team Rockstar has crafted, is astounding but is gift wrapped in a horrendously convoluted control scheme and an atrociously busy & ponderously confusing interface.

The combat mechanics for both melee and shooting feel off, to the point wh...

Your absolutely spot on. It is indeed a blurry mess on a 4k tv Pro set up. So much so, that I eventually switched off the Pro's HDR settings and then I also, delved deeper into the Pro settings to dial it down to 1080p. This seemed to help dramatically with blur issues, but ultimately meant that the development team at Rockstar failed spectacularly to take advantage of the Pro.

Before this I was doing the big no no and messing around with my TV settings, which had been ...

When I refer to the development team being brave, I mentioned about how they took the series in a different direction, this is referencing how they took the bold decision, to go with the Norse mythology setting, as well as the changes from fixed camera and combat mechanics.

You mention, if they went with the original gameplay of the previous titles, the game would have been panned. That may have been the case for some, but as they never went down that route, there is no wa...

The game that provided me with the most smiles and entertainment was Spiderman. Red Dead, for me, really began to outstay it's welcome and ended up becoming a trudge and chore fest. Right up until the very end and my final shootout, after playing the title diligently, for almost a month, I was still finding myself tripping up over the awfully implemented, broken controls and clusterfu(k interface.

It was a genuine relief, as well as a breath of fresh air to get the game...

Loving the Trans Am and all the other updates that make this game so special for me. Now, I just need to grow a big porn star tache, plays some smokin Jerry Reed cuts and stick on my plaid western shirt to really channel my inner Burt Reynolds.

Got the game on release day and have played it solidly ever since and have been utterly enthralled at this games absolute brilliance for the most part, but for me, it has been sullied by a poorly implemented, frustrating control interface.

The game, in my opinion, has far too many balls to juggle all at the one time. For example, when you are in the midst of a tense shootout and you find yourself having to constantly pause proceedings, to enter a menu wheel and then a furth...

It's not so much that, as these are the types of games that I absolutely love to play. I have got several third person action adventure platinum trophies, patiently searching for all manner of goodies.

My grievances with the game are more borne out of a legitimate sense of frustration with some of the design choices and heavy, cumbersome controls. Confounded by spending thousands on an improved 4k setup, only to have the game (currently) look better in it's 1080p it...

I bought both games on the day of release. Shadow was bought, completed, traded in & sold, then completely forgotten about, all within a week.

Uncharted 4, still gets popped into my console on occasion, for another thrill ride through the memorable campaign.

Normally, I never go to the bother of exchanging my purchases, but Red Dead was incoming and I wasn't enamoured at having to fork out yet another 49.99 so soon after Odyssey, so when I saw tha...

Tedious is a good word to describe my experience with the game. I actually changed my Ps4 Pro settings earlier, to 1080p, to try and lower the blur on my 4k setup. It actually looked and resulted in a cleaner implementation, than their god awful, smudged checkerboard technique. This game has been years in the making, by elite developers, as well as being marketed by Sony, yet they have released a broken, bug filled mess with awful, convoluted and cumbersome controls, a broken cover system, a...

To me Nate, it's just a lot of extra needless fudge to contend with, when i'd rather be progressing, or just having fun with the game. Instead, I find myself constantly checking those bloody gauges on the minimap with stamina/health/dead eye, rather than take in the sumptuous majesty of the world that Rockstar have crafted. Like you, I enjoy all the extra little details of brushing my steed. My biggest gripe is with the controls. It's a real pest at times, when an object becomes h...

I have gone from loathing this game with a passion, to absolutely loving it and then back to currently loathing it again.

As others, have more eloquently than I, pointed out, the controls are a frustrating and cumbersome abomination. The game, for me, has now become a tedious, fetch quest chore. Never in my gaming life, have I actually had to actively pause a game on more than one occasion, just to find out, by going onto the Internet, how to access various sub menus, objec...

The game has somewhat improved as I'm learning the controls, but the game is still needlessly cumbersome and clunky. For example, I downed an enemy and wanted to pick up his weapon. Rather than doing this automatically or with a single button press, I found myself having to navigate sub menus to place said weapon in my inventory. This sadly just ends up frustrating the player and becomes a chore.

It's astonishing what the developers have achieved with regards to ar...

Cheers Captain. There seems to be an absolute plethora of confusing menus and sub menus and an overabundance of unnecessary bloated elements. I have to be ever so careful, so as not to spoil anything, but here is an example below.

The very last thing that I want to be doing in the midst of a tense shootout, is finding myself raking through drawers for mundane items and then having to navigate not one but two sub menus and then select from a number of different choices, just...

My initial spoiler free impressions are that, the setting, graphics, story and atmosphere are absolutely sensational. The voice acting is a triumph throughout and so far the game, after my first few hours of play looks like a classic.

I do however, have some gripes though. So far, I'm finding the controls overly cumbersome to get used to and I find myself pressing the wrong buttons and the constant tapping of X to run is a real pain. The actual melee combat and gun play...

You have hit the the nail on the head Captain. I bought it, completed it, instantly forgot it and sold it, all within a week.

In my opinion the game was a mediocre, laborious chore to play through, with poor pacing, stale and dated ideas, lousy combat, poor story, awful voice acting and a completely pointless upgrade system and the game hasn't advanced much from the 2013 reboot.

I have the platinum for Spiderman and I'm just a few minor collectables shy of getting the God Of War plat. Both games are absolutely tremendous, but if my arm was twisted and I had to pick my personal favourite between the two, I'd go with spiderman, as it was an absolute joy and so much fun to play.

In my personal list of favourite superhero titles, i'd have added the splendid Punisher game from 2004/5.
