I was having a little difficulty with the gunplay, but that is done on purpose. Once you level up your character with focus and dip into the skills tree to boost your character stats further, you will soon be getting head-shots like John Wick.

Yeah Corey, the game isn't perfect by any means, but the main reason I posted my original comment, was because, in my opinion the game did not warrant some of harsh reviews. There seems to be, in my opinion, a smear campaign going on against this title as it's a Sony exclusive. Your right though about the audio clipping & spongy enemies. Bend studios should hopefully address this & other minor bug issues in future patch 1.05.

I have been playing it over the last 48 hrs and have loved every minute of it. I'm finding that the game improves immensely as you get better able and equipped to handle situations, through upgrades to certain things I wouldn't wish to spoil.

A couple of quick updates. Initially, I was finding the gun combat quite difficult and it was harder than I was expecting, especially landing a headshot. Not to worry though, as I have realized and found out, that there is a skill tree of leveling up your ability. I don't want to spoil anything other than to say It was imperative that I "focused" on the task ahead. Now I'm blasting enemies like John Wick.

Got my copy a day early and have played the game for just a little over two hours. Here are some spoiler free initial impressions. I'm playing on a Ps4 Pro 4k HDR set up.
The graphics are absolutely tremendous and are crystal clear. For comparison's sake, Red Dead 2's open world was a blurry mess on my pro and the HDR implementation was very sub standard. Whereas the HDR on Days Gone is tremendous.

I played the game on a 4k HDR TV set up on the Pro and for me, the game was a blurry mess that gave me eye strain. The problem got so bad, that for the first time on Pro, I actively downgraded my settings to 1080p to alleviate the issue.
I'd rather sit bollox naked on a cactus, than spend another month, battling against, what for me, was a horrendously outdated and clunky control scheme with a cumbersome, overly engineering interface. Just using health, picking up an it...

It will most probably take me a lot longer, but the gameplay in the demo alone, to me, was more thrilling, fun & rewarding fighting the zombies, than my tedious and arduous month long slog fest, trying to get through Red Dead 2 fighting the controls.

This game, for me, was absolutely top notch & a thoroughly enjoyable experience for the most part, snaffling another platinum trophy. Only slightly hamperered a smidgeon by Sony Bends tremendous ambition, resulting in a few technical areas, where the game chugs along in spots and has far too many, long loading screens.
