Broke my heart. I can say that of the 5 306s I had to send in, it did take a week or 2 to get it back and it was an inconvenience, but it never cost me $188. ($149 + shipping and handling). Sadly, I have no plans to repair it now. It has Rock band 2 stuck in it and I don't have the dough to get it repaired at the moment. So I would love to see an extended warranty on a somewhat common defect. The second one I saw. There was a used 80gb at Gamestop with a YLOD over Christmas.
Who realizes that you can cancel a pre-order without returning the demo? Get your $5 back and be done with it. So Technically, you are not paying for the demo, putting $5 down on a game that is completely refundable is NOT charging $5 for a demo. This topic needs to die out, complete garbage. Please stop trying to pour fuel on it, let the flame die out.
Just saw your comment Krimmson. Agree.
I'm pretty pissed at GoW3 right now. No Spoilers. The boss battles so far are great, puzzles are great, story is great, all worthy of a 10 score, then they had to make you fly up a chain and dodge things. Not too tough, but so out of character, takes you out of the game, the mood, the feel. Then, after a few more hours, they make you fly BACK down the chain, free falling. You can only hit so much til you die. Bad part is when you hit something, you can't see, increasing the odds that you will...
I'm one of the gamers that gets into the hard core, but has casual fun when friends come around. I'm also one of the ones that had minimal fun on the Wii, mostly because it looked childish to me. I thought that a motion control with a more adult, current gen look and feel was better suited for me. Solution found. And Sony ripped off Nintendo, Nintendo ripped off Sony (CD), MS ripped off Nintendo, Nintendo ripped off MS, MS ripped off Sony, Sony ripped off MS. So what. I get what I want, Rip t...
They displayed the ARC to the public, demonstrated the casual affect it has and Displayed its genre range. Yes, I am a part of the revolution that thinks ARC is better than move. The money is to be made by getting consoles out there. Get the casual audience. No question. More money they make, the more stuff they make for us. And there is NO way in hell that Sony will let there prize devs make shovelware for it, so we will still see our great AAA titles. Expand the base. They did it before and...
So the media and many gamers resented them. Since then, they have answered most of the criticism. Lower price? done. Solid, reliable online play? done. AAA games? Try game of the year. Advertising? Kevin Butler. I think its time to reevaluate Sony and release the grudge. Stop making bad ports and giving biased reviews.
Fortunately, I was not affected by this bug. I was playing games all day through the epidemic. Yes it did affect many people, but it was not as big as most are making it to be. And, by the way, it's over. Once it happens 3 times, the EXACT same thing mind you, then we can keep it going. Sort of like my red ring. 1st one, Oh well, get it fixed. 2nd one, really? get it fixed. 3rd one, ok, this is a serious issue and I can keep it relevant.
That's cool and all, but i'm happy to hear it's coming and it's in good hands.
Just announcing SOCOM 4 and Zipper as developer had more of an impact than that trailer. My guess is that this is like the jab before the left hook that will come from the GDC next week.
Just speaking of the mod, he has obviously had no experience with professional management. He has been granted power and feels all mighty. I have no clue what the poster did because the video was edited. I can see that the mod is an immature person who probably knows someone in MS to have been granted the mod access.
The same could be said for Reach. I prefer the PS3 myself for several reasons. I enjoy the 360 and see that it is better in some areas. I'm a realist. But to downplay GoW3 is simply foolish. I do know 360 enthusiast who have no plans on getting a PS3, but want to play Gow3, even slightly hinting at getting one to play it. On the other hand, I LOVED Halo: CE. had a strong liking for Halo 2, Enjoyed Halo 3 and was disappointed by ODST. I didn't even feel compelled to play it for more than 3 hou...
1) MGS4 - I enjoyed it, but ended up falling asleep in the long cut scenes. trophies would add an incentive.
2) R&C: ToD - Played it and beat it. It was fun, but no MP and no need for a replay. trophies would make that change.
3) Resistance: FoM - Played and meat it. MP was fun, but quirky. I would give it another go though.
4) Soul Calibur IV - Fun game and one of the more fair fighters (SFIV boss was cheaper than discount dirt).
5) Heavenly Sword - Fun game, b...
I'll get one at $179.00
Its fun and deep. So much to do. Online is great. community features are not even spoken of and this adds so much to it. I chose to see for myself. I feel like I won.
8.3 out of 10. And the more you learn how to play it, the more fun it is.
This won't sway my decision.
Whoever reported this is on some serious BS. If Zipper felt this way, they could make servers that only work with those who have mics, but not limit the game as a whole. That would kill this game along with the $60 price tag.
I chose to pass on the game for now. I played the beta and enjoyed it, but the gripe I have it that this game had what I feel to be a limited experience for $60. I'm sure the game is great fun. The experience I had in the beta has me wanting more, but financially, there are more games I want to play than I can afford. So it boils down to: Had MAG released at $39 for an Online only game, I sop it up. It releases at $60 in a crowded window, it gets passed up until it's cheaper to buy.

I like this. How they used Gears characters in LP2 and how Uncharted used other characters in it's game. I like this pattern.
Cool to have for someone who wants to play with Linux, yes, but you can play with Linus on an old computer too. For the "Companies" that really made use of this, they were not playing PS3 games on the PSN. So what does this move mean to them? Nothing. They don't have to update the firmware. Their systems continue to work as is. So don't make the "Companies" using the PS3 as a supercomputer out to be the victim. That is not the case.
