The score is low for an IGN review, but I agree with most of the points. I was never planning on buying the game to begin with, but this review really confirmed my decision. Shooters have never been so generic and boring...

Lousy company. I am not even giving vXIII the benefit of the doubt. Square-Enix ran out of gas a long time ago and just couldn't make a remotely decent game this whole generation. The last good FF was over a decade ago. FFX was ok but not amazing. But FFXIII I purchased on launch against my better judgement in hopes it'll be at least as good as X. I was only fooling myself.
Uhh the SEGA Dreamcast had a camera too. Just sayin'. And if you go further back in time Nintendo released the GameBoy Camera etc. etc.
Pretty much this. Shooters nowadays hold your hand through their toughest parts. Checkpoints and regenerative health make the game feel cheap and tacked on. I used to like shooters, but nowadays that has ruined. Even worse when we are currently looking at an over saturated market.
Why are people all over the internets dying for a new PlayStation? The PS3 isn't fully tapped yet. The graphics we see nowadays are at their peak. The PS3 is now only $50 less than the price of the launch PS2, and it was not long ago the system started selling to the masses. There are a lot of a major goals recently accomplished.

I am not an idiot that rides on some reviewer's marinated left testicle for my purchasing decisions, let alone some score on the Metacritics. I am still interested in trying out this game. Probably the only Capcom game this entire generation that I would enjoy.
OMG people need to chill the f*** out. You are looking at a port. If you look at a little history with ports you will understand that ports are going to be bad indicators on how powerful the Wii U actually will be. It doesn't matter if the Wii U will be 2x or even 50x more powerful than the Xbox360 and PS3, Vigil will not push the Wii U capabilities to its potential with this game. They will focus on the U-Pad controller.
They suck. About time we are seeing less of these. Games are their own medium, there is no need to water them down to crappy inferior movies. It is the same thing with game movies.

Bigger than Skyrim...or not, I am still looking forward to this. This is the first Capcom game in the past few years that has me interested. Their other games...meh.
Brawl has more characters, more stages, more content, better graphics...but Melee was better.
I don't. Their games have turned to s***. First Dragon Age II now Mass Effect 3 (with the plot holes, ending, and other major issues with the story). Fail company.
