Lawl @ Uncharted. It took me around 8 hours to beat Uncharted 2. Not to mention most of the game is filled with repetitive kill wave sequences and cutscenes. Without those two the game would have been 3 hours at most. Also I play games for the fun, not for the graphics, nor for the technical prowess. You missed that crucial bit of information.
Kudos for mentioning Dark Souls. Too bad games like this are quite rare this generation.
Like Uncharted? God of War? Killzone? Resistance? LBP? I lost track on how many GoW spinoffs exist. Sony is guilty of milking their franchises and playing it safe.
How did Uncharted 2 blow the whole industry out of the water? Is it because of the generic third person cover-based shooting? The light platforming elements? The unoriginal and shallow story with no depth or substance? The Nolan North voice acting? The tacked on multiplayer that is found in every mediocre shooter this generation? Help me out here...
14. Turned-based jRPGs
15. Complete games
16. Games that are longer than 8 hours
17. Games that don't hold your hand through the toughest parts
18. Games that are more than just cinematic storytelling and online multiplayer
You know what is better? Porn. It's the backbone that powers the internet we all use everyday. Stop masturbating to fake computer generated polygons.
It looks good but I am not going to jump the gun on the conclusion that this is the next GTA even if I like the game better. GTA is a household brand, while Sleeping Dogs is the new kid on the block that isn't known to most GTA fans. Look at THQ, as much as I enjoy Saints Row, the franchise didn't steal the crown from GTA. It is going to take A LOT more marketing and competition against GTA than what Square-Enix is currently doing.
Revolution? It is hardly a revolution. It's just a silly gimmick that bogs down on game performance. Also you have to wear those bulky sunglasses and play the game in lower resolution and lower framerate just for this? Seriously? Call me back when you release a state-of-the-art glasses free 3DTV at affordable rates, Sony. Until then nobody but the most die hard fanboys that make up the majority of N4G.com are going to care, just like your stupid Move controller that didn't have the im...
Most DLC is a scam. Not because of launch day but because I can purchase a game at full retail price with over 60 hours worth of gameplay, and then turn around and spend another $10 for only an additional hour of content. It's consumer gouging at best, but it is also the fault of the consumer for actually supporting this, and there is more than enough idiots out there that eat it up. The trend is only getting worse.
Not on console. Most console gamers nowadays are drunken fratboys and don't want to play survival horror games. They want games with the guns, explosions, and fast paced action you see in the 86,392 crappy shooters on the market. Just add zombies in the game and millions will lap it up. On PC you see independent developers that are quite passionate for the genre. Look at Amnesia for an example, and compare that to games like Dead Space and Resident Evil 5. Survival horror is only alive on...
I still don't want this game.
Uncharted 2. A run of the mill linear third person shooter with light platforming elements, boring cover-based shooting found in every other shooter this generation, regenerative health and checkpoints that hold your hand through the game's toughest parts, unoriginal story with no depth, no substance, and nothing meaningful.
The first Uncharted was a good game, but this one wasn't an improvement...far from it.
Because it's old technology that nobody back then wanted? Because you have to wear those awkward-looking sunglasses? Because it bogs down on game performance? Because it delivered more marketing than anything worthwhile? It's a gimmick. Any idiot that thinks otherwise is in Sony denial.
This article is stupid and the writer is an idiot.
...and the best selling game on console is Modern Warefare 2048, some crappy run of the mill gray first person shooter. Diablo 3 is a piece of shit but I would honestly rather play this than some 6-hour generic war FPS. Maybe it is because I am not American.
Good luck. Just beware of Square-Enix though. They would likely shut your game down like they did the 3D fan remake of Chrono Trigger.
Lawl, everytime a sales article gets posted it is always inevitable that stupid fanboy wars like this happen in the comments. This article is about sales, not which console you like better. Sales and your opinion of a console are two different things. End of story. Stop being idiots and get back to your choice of video games.
There is nothing to worry about. The majority don't have the internet capable to support cloud gaming and even if they did I doubt it will make the impact internet journalists say it would. If anything, cloud gaming will go the way of Netflix, and that sure didn't replaced DVD or BluRay video.
Agreed the concept for this console looks cool but I am not going to blindly support a system without first looking what games the platform will offer apart from the Android marketplace. I am not buying a console just so I can play Angry Birds on a TV. If I wanted the game I would have gotten it on my iPad a long time ago.
I am not touching Blizzard anything with a 10 foot pole, and haven't been for over a decade. This game only proves my point that Blizzard still isn't worth my time, or my wallet.
Or make more new IPs. Only so much franchise milking and mediocre spinoffs a person can stomach.
