1. It isn't just memory but also CPU cycli. If you have to simulate say 1 million people in a city, then you'll require quite a bit of CPU time, especially if they do a bit more then "see player, kill player".

The further away the slower you can update the AI, as after all those bots are not shown on the screen as long as they are fully updated in "real time" (not actual real time) on the Cloud side, then everything is fine. But you can let them in...

Let's say you have about 2 frames per second for something that requires a lot of computing power but only requires a few values to be send as a result.

Like the citizens in a city and their AI. Now you do not need to know at that time how the citizens react on the other side of the city. Atleast not rigth now for your gameplay perspective. So you only need the reaction of the closest one hundred.

These reactions are then calculated by heavy hardware on ...

Why? So people can loose their jobs? Seriously?

@Helpfulgamer
That is about the only way I can see it working out properly. But Sony Ponies and MS Xbots cream by the thought of having the other's company go bankrupt.

That a majority of people would loose their jobs isn't important to them.

WoW....
Wishing people to loose their jobs to save a fund like Value Act, just because you are a fanboy.

New lows, I suppose for you "smallnes" awaits, for your mind that is.

Competition is good, no matter how much you hate it.

Yet you would applaud like a seal for a Steam Machine that is 500 bucks.

Be a man don't by any DRM! There are alternatives. GOG is a good one!

How could it have gotten out of hand? My Wii U becomes nothing less enjoyable from knowing this. I already know it can't beat an XbOne or a PS4 in raw power. So why would it matter to me if the games are great, I'm having a lot of fun and the graphics are more then decent? :).

Awww.. you're adorable! The Ayn Rand under the gamers! Soooo cute! Indeed Nintendo gives you 100 coins for 10 minutes.. BUT THEN BRUTALLY SLAUGHTERS YOU OVER AND OVER!

Nintendo makes Italians die for a princess that never makes out. They make a moustachioed man fight a huge lizzard, just for that chance to hug a rather plain looking princess. Chances of being boiled in hot lava, impaled on spikes, falling to your death, eating bad mushrooms and on top of that.... having t...

Clickbait! As it is just another article of this dead horse. can we please move on now? Or do we have to beat something into a mush?

Sir, you get a bubble for being so truthful. Everybody knows this fact yet they keep denying it. The facts look them straight in the face! Why do these fanboys keep denying it.

Why, we can already play games on it, while they can only compare spec sheets. SO by definition it is better ;).

In 2 weeks that might change a bit though ;).

@Carmelo:
It is because MS is very carefull this round regarding heating problems.

Personally however I prefer the PSU to be outside. Mostly as I live in an area with a retarded power company. Every so often they have a spike and blow out fuses by accident. I have gone through several surge protectors and even a computer PSU behind a surge protector in a few years.

If the external PSU fries on a console, I only have to send that one back to the compan...

It's a bit too "RAAAAAAAH WWF!" like in presentation for me though. But then that must be a South Korean and American thing.

That camera is not 250 pounds. Seriously it started at a rumoured 80, then became 110... then 130... then...etc.

Man it is like a hearsay story where the fish gets bigger each time, until in the end the Ansjovis became a whale.

As for the rest of the OT:Spot on. The problem is the Ram Bandwidth and the Fillrate. the 360 had a separate very limited "GPU" handing the EDRAM for these kinds of things. And although it was a nightmare to program in the la...

That is because arsehole groups.. I mean "Activist Funds" like Value act only think in the short term. They rather stay in a slowly declining market of profit (Like MS and there Business services and Server software) then trying to get into new markets.

They forget for instance that MS knows very well that Servers are more and more moving to Open Source solutions. MS also knows very well that the consumer market is where the money is. THey also know that the time of...

@Kcuth:
Esram is not a bottleneck, it is a patch on wound. The bottleneck is the memory bandwidth of the system, and ESRAM is just a very tiny patch on a rather gaping wound.

But that said, even if they had fixed that, the bottleneck would be somewhere else. There is always a bottleneck in a system. Doesn't matter if it is the PS4, Wii U or XbOne. The thing is how detrimental is a bottleneck and is it very negatively affecting the system... or is it something deve...

Ah, that investment group again, Value act. The same guys that ruined Motorola and turned it into a sham of it's former self. Getting thousands of people fired. Oh yes on the short term it is so much better to drop it, and stay in a market of server software and business services that is slowly declining for you in favour of a superior open source based ecosphere.

But hey at least for those few years... you had your dividend and your profits while MS Research Employees lo...

Is it really that difficult to see others enjoy themselves? Seriously Drive Club is also a very good game and a very good contender as competition. GT6 will probably blow Forza 5 away, now there.. feel a bit better?

*Evil Grin* The NES and Master System would work fine. What is it with you people, can't you expect propperly passively cooled consoles anymore? (I know not a fair comparison considering the technology and what heat it developed :D, just am jossing a bit).

@MajorAly:
It's because it's a console launch and units are scarce. At most they will want to give away some promotional units but otherwise they will try to supply as many preorders as humanly possible.

For that same reason the demo units are taking some time, a faulty Demo Unit can ruin your reputation especially after the RROD thing. Look at Sony and the crap they got for a few buggy demo units. And in stores they will abuse the hardware big time, people te...
