GDDR 5.
DDR5 doesn't exist yet.
Indeed the Xbone has them too, and Radeon cards in the past had them too. Really this is fanboy reaching. YOu could also sometimes be a lucky camper and via a bios update unlock unused Units in your Radeon cards. There where risks of artifacts or even unstable systems.
But there is no way in HELL Sony will activate these alter in the generation, as it would really fuck over early adaptors with buggy systems or even just crash their systems or make them incompatible with newe...
People please! Stop reaching like this. After the "OMG EXTRA CHIP DOING OS STUFF!" for the Arm Chip that does the background downloading, we now are reaching for the deactivated CU cores for yields?
Newsflash people! The XbOne also has 2 of those! And they decided against activating them for A. It didn't add that much to the total increase of computation and MORE IMPORTANT B. It would increase the costs as more chips will not be possible for use in the hardware...
Aaah.. remember when gaming just used to be fun? And the SNES and Megadrive both had very different Resolution outputs? Aaah... what boring times. Now we can say what pixel is prettier then the other just by looking at a piece of paper! Who needs the system when you can brag about paper! YAY PAPER!
Sony wasn't bashed for 8 years, that is selective memory. In fact I am pretty sure the whole Wii60 movement was simply because of Sony and their fanboys being completely unbearable. They send specsheets after specsheet.. even counting USB ports and adding the cost of live to the initial cost of the console.
It wend on and on, bashing the Wii for looking like an adult toy, the 360 for not having a "1080p output!". MS was very annoying back with compared memory ba...
My Wii U is ready.
Then have a blast like you say, and stop going "OMG MS BLEW IT!".
Just havee fun? Is that so hard to have without rubbing it in for others?
It's not 10% that is an estimate. You can't define hardware proficiency that wel in a total percentage. It probably is about 1 core (about 12 % then) of the CPU and some other things from the rest of the chip. If you then average it out (adding it all and diving it by the count) you get to somewhere near 10%. Which really doesn't mean that 10 % is actually used.
Same goes for the PS4 and it's OS. That one also uses quite a bit of resources (people often misquote ...
Why, a Bubble for you my good man! You too point out that companies merely choose BSD for the license to "Screw around without giving anything back". ;).
BSD != Linux.
But BSD is a Unix Based OS.
The license of BSD is very different from the one Linux distros use. For one you do not have to give back your changes to the community.
That Sony wants you to beleive they love Linux so much has more to do with public image then with their actual business. There is a reason why both OSX and PS4 run on BSD, and that is because of the license. They do not have to make any of their additions or fixes Opensourc...
Why not just install Linux on your PC?
How you mean stopped hating? What is it with Gamer enthousiasts and their selective memmory. I am pretty sure there where videos out there of people turning on their PS3, and then turning on their 360 while at the same time turning on a vacuum cleaner.
All to mock MS for having a louder console. Or the stuff about 1080p back then as Sony said they would support it and MS did not. Forgetting to mention that it was only maximum output and had nothing to do with the actual resol...
720p with proper anti aliasing is sharper then 720p without.
There is always... Nintendo * winks and shows you his Wii U and an extra controller* And we don't mind playing together on one machine... hmmm?
Should be JRPG characters not RPG. As a JRPG often is closer to an "Adventure" game then a Western RPG. Not that that is bad mind you, I enjoy a good JRPG myself, but I would not claim it to be as free with your adventure as say Arcanum :).
I'll show you a picture of why:

And they come in multiple varieties. From Green to Blue. They can't stand that their little hump of plastic, wires, and circuit board gets some criticism. Yet they do dish it out ;).
I'm pretty sure he did not say that, and probably was more nuanced. But seeing how NeoGaf wants everything in one lines like "dat Balance", he probably got misquoted like so many before him.
People need to read before saying "Oh he said <x>".
I mean people still credit Bill Gates with the 640KB thing, but that was also taken way out of context.
OY! sounding like a Jet Engine is just cool :). So don't even pretend that that isn't awesome!
Just turn up the volume on your TV, as it is only when you play a game. Or get an aviation scarf and goggles and sit in front of your PV for total win. :D
Now I still like the Wii U a lot more, but I must admit the sound thing was to be expected with that set up. And it isn't a big deal.
It has to do with chip yields. Since Sony needed...
None of that except Beer, but mostly as I don't drink Beer to begin with so that is a no brainer ;). Outside ofthat, nope, a bunch of wires, silicon and plastic is just not worth it!
@TomShoe
Aww cute, you'll be going to FoxCon and build your PS4 yourself.
Adorable!
