I see, again thank you :D
while i do see your angry with this whole ordeal.
i agree with you, about that they should go after every company that tries to lock down hardware to one single software vendor. I don't view profits as 'evil', i view abuse of an anti-piracy law to stop things that are not piracy as 'evil'.
I'm kinda in the middle, I say allow people to freely use hardware however they want, and teach others to do the same, however only go after those w...
how is this pc related? >.<
edit: I'm happy you guys are getting psn back online, but please don't mistag articles to gain hits or degrees :(
Now I read TFA, it does a good job at explaining what happened in basically bullet point form.
However if I may ask two questions, one off topic and one on topic.
off topic: how was system memory and the processor being used at their respected full potential by Linux, a bad thing?
on topic: what happened to team overflow after geohotz settled?(since they too were being sued)
note: I know many gamers don't care, but I'...
and? they make your games :P
anyone think "possible" bs articles like this can be solved with some details* as to what the hell happened? (keep details secretive doesn't do any good out side of the share holders)
* what systems were compromised how bad, possible eta for it to be back up, etc.
hackers were exploiting the OtherOS feature to get more system resources to do more things with it, like hardware based 3d and 2d acceleration. Now the cheating and pirating groups built upon the work of 'real' hackers to do bad things.
the 'real' hackers wanted full system resources in Linux not a gimped, dumbbed(misspelled) down version.
the 'fake' hackers wanted to cheat and pirate games.
the problem is that for eve...
awww man, and I always thought my printer based cloud storage was super cool.
you its plausible, So i'm not ruling anything out until there is more info released about this. people shouldn't just jump to blame one party, when there is so little info about this right now.
ok than, they didn't do it or don't take credit for doing it. fair enough, seeing how that area is in kind of a bad state it could be possible that either the power network or telecoms network isn't stable enough to support the servers at the moment.
edit: telecoms problem like a busted fiber cable
... ummm you should check out their OPlibya or is it OPEgypt, Not all of their operations are kinda screwed up. :D
question 1: is this source creditable?
question 2: why haven't I seen anything about this on either slashdot or on the anon irc?
I feel this article was made just to get hits. sorry to the posters but this doesn't add up
whoops I read the article and not the version history from the wiki with this patch :P. My bad
(attempting to recover world folders would be awesome though.)
you know I did that with MOH but i enjoyed the beta more so than i did the final product :/
I have to say even though its only for the server client right now, it would be awesome for the player side to have.
I have to agree with the last part, and if I may expand upon that for others. Its like the wiring in your home, it can theoretically handle more than 20 amps but its not safe for it to handle it. think about it like this if a game were to utilise the consoles to their max power, they would die fairly quickly, or reset during gameplay.(due to the parts heating up from all the stress)
I agree, I don't see how they thought a 5k system is even logical. The only Computers that would be reasonable at that cost are servers.
I agree, with this Article, even though less is earned per sale, there will be more sales to counter the price reduction :D, which is good for both the publishers and the gamers
great just great :/, MS may get valve to make a xbox client, hope the deal doesn't screw up work on the linux client.
agreed, what he did is similar to packet sniffing
