This generation fanboys have implemented their own scale of judgement:
If a game on their system of reach around choice does not score a 10/10 or 11/10, then they scream conspiracy and mass murder and claim the site is biased and bought off.
Getting a 8-9.5 is considered to them Blasphemy.
To them the average score for a game on their system of choice must be 10/10

And yet if the rumor is correct about this new Wii system, it will be far superior and "hardcore" then the PS3 and the Xbox360. It will actually be able to play games in 1080p using real Anti-Aliasing...Something the other consoles will never do :P

The irony is the PS2 had more flops in its CPU than the Xbox1 CPU...

Total "flops" as you stated mean very little in the grand scheme of things when it comes to visual/graphical output...if this were not the case the PS2 would have been graphical superior to the Xbox1 last generation...and that was NOT the case in any way shape or form.

Japan is no longer the trump card. It was once the largest gaming demographics in the world. That is no longer the case. Japan numbers are almost always offset by North American numbers so nothing changes.
The reality is still consistent:
Sony needs to secure the USA over MS in order to outsell them OVERALL.
Without the USA, Sony will not succeed this generation in beating the Xbox360 in overall sales...With or without Japans ...
Xbox360 owners will have a fantastic time playing this game. Its that good.
So true its only the USA... Unfortunately for Sony, the USA makes up the bulk of consumer hardware/software sales for console gaming.
So until Sony can overtake MS in the USA on a consistent basis here on out, the PS3 will never pass the Xbox360 overall in sales.
This is of course if you care about sales LOL
Its multi-platform games that sell...and considering 85% of the games released in a calender year are multi-platform, its no surprise that exclusives fall behind in that area.

Does it really matter if thats the case? Regardless if you care, overall the Xbox360 is still ahead of the PS3 and it looks to stay that way for at least another year the minimum.
The PSP was not crap. It was amazing IMO. The problem was the games.
Sony concentrated WAY TOO MUCH on brining full console games to the handheld.
Only hardcore/core gamers want this. The average consumer in most cases do not...for a portable. And unfortunately average consumers make up most of the buying demographics for portable game units. If it were the other way around, the PSP would have came out on top of the DS easily.

Hardcore gamers will snap up the NGP whatever the cost, HOWEVER, they are not the prime consumers or majority of consumers that buy portable handhelds. Its the average gamer that does...the parents that buy them.
They make up most of the hand held dedicated gaming portable demographics.
Then when you have CellPhone and Tablet gaming exploding at unprecedented levels, it makes it that much harder to justify a high price t...
If its more expensive than the 3DS significantly, it will have poor sales.
A Nintendo handheld releases at $250 and the sales are lackluster as of now, what do you think will happen if the NGP sells for more than this in this economy?
This is one of the reasons Sony did some rethinking about the initial specifications recently because of early sales results for the 3DS.
I am actually hoping the Wii2 specs are true to the rumor for the simple fact all these people on N4G.COM arguing about how the PS3 or Xbox360 is so powerful with such graphics...will then have to...well you know LOL
I think the biggest surprise is how market share has shifted greatly from the last two generations.
Sony had close to 75% market share with the PS2 and just under 70% with the PS1...
Now this generation it has totally turned upside down with the Wii having the most market-share and the PS3 with the least.
How things can change so fast.
Run this ganme using the Cry Engine 3 or Frost Bite engine 2.0...

This all depends on the price point of the new Wii and how well it sells and how far superior it will be over the PS3 and Xbox360 (based on rumor specs, it will be vastly superior in power if the specifications are correct)
If the Wii2 does well sales wise and has the gumption to hold its own in 1080p gaming, you can bet MS and Sony will move its time line up because I cannot see them letting Nintendo rule this roost with that sort of power for a minimum of 2 years.
