Same here. Never played a previous thief game so I'm not stuck on the "the series lost its way" thing. For me, as with any new game, I just hope it's one that I enjoy playing. I'm pretty fond of stealth a la panther mode in Blacklist. I love creeping and hiding but I cannot stand NOT KILLING people. So I have high hopes for this game.

Yes. People no longer watch cable or pay for ondemand. Netflix and hulu and torrent sites are stealing customers and a lot of them. This isn't just a gaming restricting they are trying to push through but it would block you (unless you pay a fee) from watching hulu netflix or gaming online.
Some are more fortunate. In Washington state I have Comcast. I get 250gb a month but as long as my history doesn't reflect torrent sites they let me slide to around 400ish for no extra charge. That's 8 full retail 50gb games. I'll never buy that many in one month. I usually buy 2 maybe 2 and play some online and stream some shows.

Let's see, new games are about 50gb. Factor in movies and such and your 500gb (435 usable) will max out after 7 games or so. Now what? Oh, right, buy a ms external or replacement hdd for 100 bucks that cost 20 to make. Voila! You just paid the current price and you can no longer play discs.

A good way to predict the future is look at the past. Sony really brought the big guns in regards to exclusives last gen and that before this massive surge in "give the players what they want" campaign. Already, plus has been dropping bombs like Bioshock and metro and we are barely Into the new year.
