All I heard in the review was "easy" and "simple" after every mechanic. That is what the franchise has become; brain dead. In the IGN walkthrough he said, "sometimes the enemies will get your echos and then you have to kill them to get them back". So, if you died by falling off a ledge and there are no monsters around, your bloodstain will be on the ground. If you die in a fight then chances are pretty good one of them will get them.
God help us if Capra Demon gets our echos.
One flaw I noticed is that Clickers use sonar to see. That means they omit a click and it will bounce off anything moving, yet, the game says they find you by hearing movement. So you can walk slow right up to one while he is clicking and they can't see you. That is a major flaw.

I am a gaffer and I just left a long ass post in the OT about how horrible my experience has been playing this on the PS4. The framerate IS bad. Really love the Trine universe. Followed the "outrage" about the games length and watched the devs feedback video. Really bummed it had gotten to that point. I hope they sell enough to make Trine 4 or Trine 3 DLC. Yes, the choice to focus on the 3d and cut the length was a bad one but I hope they make enough money to continue the franchise.
