They are listening to consumers just like Sony was forced to last gen. What's happening with MS and Xbox is no different. @kneon I was talking about my X1 and how it automatically updates as a plus for the console. On ps4 just like on ps3 I gave to go through the same old process. Thankfully much less on ps4 then on ps3.
Are you serious with this comment? The ps3 had constant pain in the arse updates that added no features or much of anything of value. This us completely different and I've never even seen my console update it just does it.

Except it's really not that. Hardware is not what makes the money software is. Right now ps4 is in the lead but as more and more 360 people upgrade to one. Who knows? Last gen 360 thoroughly beat ps3 in software sales regardless of hardware this time it's a lot closer. I still think it's too close to call this kind of stuff as it's a lot more complicated then just hardware sales. I guess we will see.
When I worked at Walmart we were constantly sold out of them. All of my friends who bought XB1 without it eventually went and got one. I love this thing. The only reason it hasn't been used to its full potential is the Tine foil hat lynch mob that popped up in 2013. They've done a lot of work to make it so the Dashboard works fine without it, but it really completes the system.
This seems to be a particularly noticeable trend with Japanese developed games (Dynasty Warriors, Dead or Alive 5, MGS - Ground zeroes). Which makes a little sense because of Xboxs relative non status in Japan.
Nah I had my fill of long loading screens after deaths way back on PS1 with Fear Effects first boss and many insta kills. Here's hoping this trend never returns.
@Darth its definitely not the same thing in this case. Hideo Kojima's games have a certain style to them that comes from the man himself. He obsessively over sees everything on these games. Arrrrgh dishonored. The memories of carefully going through the game not killing anybody going for the achievement. Getting all the way to the last couple of levels only for one of the rooftop ninja guys I choked out to glitch and fall through the roof of the building and die. Curse you Unreal Engiiii e!!! Still. I still have a huge backlog of games from last year. The GAMES are on my 4 TB HDD piling up. I have a better question. WHERE IS MY TIME??? I have literally every new game that was good that has come out. On all systems. I love the fact were only having 1 or 2 big releases on both systems in the first 3 months. Man I thought I was the only one who thought that game looked boring. It looks like a triumph of what can be done with procedural level creation but all the guys been doing is walking around and looking at stuff. Jumping in a ship and looking at stuff. Lots of stuff with lots of red. I just have no desire to play this game yet. Well see what happens when they show some gameplay in action.

A console is only dead if you have no use for it. Look at the vita I have a backlog of current and past gen games a mile long it won't be dead for me for years and to me it is thriving. I just bought my little sister captain toad treasure tracker she'll be playing the wii u games for years. Long after it's considered "dead". Most kids are still playing the wii.
