It's because they know they will never get a game as good as Halo. If they are really this scared of ODST imagine reach.
It's pretty much worth it imo to play reach a likely half year early. (considering the Halo 3 beta was in spring, then released in september)
Na to be honest I love playing fun games I'm interested in. And Bungie makes some of the best user friendly online/offline games out.
So I get a new campaign, new multiplayer mode, all the Halo 3 maps, and Halo:Reach beta? I'll take it.

Actually, you pretty much do get paid, just indirectly. Halo 1 sold a lot of copies so Halo 2 was made. Halo 2 sold a lot of copies so Halo 3 was made.

It doesn't really matter in the long run. Both microsoft and sony have enough funds to make a new console. So the whole 'war' will start over for the Xbox '3' and PS4.

Playing it a year after its out is cool I guess...that is if it DOES go to PS3
You would think that with a 54.2% failure rate the 360 would be in last place this gen. But nope, that is and continues to be the Sony Playstation 3. Doesn't bother me who's in first or last because I enjoy all of the games I play but just some food for thought :)

I agree with the graphics being rehashed, and I'm really expecting a large leap with Reach.
However, ODST switched up the gameplay style enough it seems to make it very enjoyable, and that's while I'll be getting it. Plus all the H3 maps which I have been holding out on.
Win/Win.
