I think that notion is referring to the decline of the hardcore, traditional view of the PC gamer. This "PC revival" movement is fueled mostly by the same type of consumers that fueled the Wii's success. It's not bad, but I think Farmville will become more synonymous with PC gamers than say Battlefield.

I just want a remake and could care less about the (sometimes crappy) spin offs. It's like asking for chocolate ice cream only to be given every other flavor with chocolate chips.

I have to agree especially when I've seen a single person carry an entire team in COD, but team work in any game trumps lone players no matter how good.
