Trailers show a lot but If you also read the interviews with Nomura about the content that's going to be in the game then you'll know why people are extra excited for this game.
I was against it at first since they share the same mythos but renaming it to XV will probably help it in sales by not being attached to XIII.
A bit similar to Sony not calling the Vita the PSP since they didn't want it to be associated with some of the mistakes they made with the PSP.

They announced it 6 years ago but they haven't been working on it since it was announced.

I don't think it's all phising. There are exploits especially the EA one which people are using to get Fifa DLC with. It was happening before but it certainly escalated after Fifa 12 arrived.
As long as there's no Treasure Hunter trophy then it's all good.

FFVII to FFX has a timeline of just 5 years. Why should they aim for 4 years for one game when they've done 4 mainline FF games in five years with other great games on the side. The stories do not take long to create. It's building an engine from scratch that takes tiime.
