Things like this will keep people from buying new consoles but game companies know they can make that money.
Well they should do something because after Titanfall and Infamous a long dead period is coming game wise. Not to mention summer on the horizon which is a gaming dead zone, only Watch Dogs will save that a bit. They will have to get creative to stay out of WiiU-itis. People are still buying 360, PS3 and games for both.
But no, nobody is going to hit 150mil and ever pass PS2 here. There's too many shared platforms.
"Here we go"
So might all the consoles if they keep porting games to last gen. The hype and the holidays are over. Millions of people don't shell out 4-500 every day, all year long. If Joe Blow can get Titanfall or whatever without having to drop 550 on XB1 for example, he will eat the downgraded graphics and keep his 550 if he even has it to blow. There's almost 200 million J.Blow's that own last gen ps and xbox's. Better make more exclusive next gen console games or there is going to be ...
um...you know you can play COD online just like everyone else right?
Only two decent suggestions are about the back catalog and the release dates. The rest are dumb. Nintendo is not going to sell their software and drop hardware when they have their own platforms already out. To even suggest such a thing is retarded. It would help nothing and probably take two years just to port things over for starters.
People who buy Xbox and PS4 are largely not interested in Nintendo games or they would buy a Nintendo console. So what makes you think that ...
All the reasons why it was my favorite one. The only one with a story that was like a real Mario adventure. Great game even though it doesn't "fit the mold".
Bad. The little things are adding up. If this game isn't a hit X1 will join Wii U in the corner.
Sure they said the same about 3DS and it's a beast now. Problem is they are getting all the games instead of Wii U.
Anyway none of these companies make money off hardware. The profits for all 3 were from 5-15 dollars. It's games that make the money and when you make mostly your own games like Nintendo you've got it good once you install a good user base.
An incompetent marketing team surely. The name (which they should drop) being the biggest mistake. It looks like Wii with some decoration after it. With Wii there was great marketing and even a little video display in stores with a woman telling you about the console. With Wii U there's just a demo to play with the game pad. Were there signs for "Nintendo X" or something if would have at least got people to take a peak and see what's new. There are plenty of people who ...
Now days it's the customer is always WRONG every time. You get treated like you are trying to pull some type of scam every time you have to return something. The fact that you can't return these to stores (which started some years back...first I heard of it was ps2 release that's when the rip off "insurance" started) is total bullshit to begin with.
The difference is 360 and ps3 still in the hands of almost 200 million people and they can still get ports for most new games. That will stifle all new system sales once the hype dies down. Things aren't the same this time around. These ports to last gen systems of the big releases are going to keep numbers low all around. Wait and see.
They missed projected sales on hardware which is way off but the profits come from software. Consoles make 15 bucks at most and that's for all of them. So nobody is exactly swimming in money from the "console" war here. Be lucky if all three so far made enough as it costs to develop one AAA game.
And so reality begins to sink in
It has only sold at a loss since the price drop and one game makes it a profit. Nintendo hasn't "lost money" they missed a projected sales mark as did the beast 3ds. Which goes to prove their entire sales and marketing team sucks.
It's not overpriced it comes with a freaking monitor, two games and free online.
People are just so biased against this system. It's sad actually. I guess they are jealous and annoyed that they can't play the Nintendo games anywhere else. Maybe it's because the big console war is over and they're still in the mood to bash something and feel good about themselves. I just don't know but it's so hyped up with the negativity it's strange.
Things aren't a disaster but they aren't going swimmingly. Not an earth shatterin...
Drop the Wii U name and just call it Nintendo and tell us when games are coming out already.
"Remember that big-budget, fantasy RPG that was rumored to be in development for Wii U?"
No.
Whatever it is...yeah keep it a secret because that will help sell consoles if people think nothing is coming out this year but Donkey Kong. Don't put any news or release dates out or anything keep it allll a secret so there's absolutely no hype for anything like you did with 3D World which was only one of the best games of the year.
Agreed. Bring back the openness that made it an adventure.
Resident Evil. Get back to the creepiness.
Pretty good article for once.
