Don't worry they will have an app to let you watch Netflix on your phone. Oh wait...
I think this is definitely true due to the statements made in the recent past. Great developers, sure, but out of touch with basic gaming trends.
While it is great they are innovative, they could combine that innovation with basic console expectations, from both consumers and 3rd parties, to create one killer platform.
Personally, they need to show me a path to upgrade first. I spent a lot on Wii U and have quite the library. I am not doing it all again for mostly the same games, no free online, and no modern day console features. Need more info.
It will do much better than wii u for a few reasons. Not having name confusion with Wii is one. A game kids actually like and know about in Splatoon. MK8 shortly after launch, a series which has seriously long legs.
Which is all great, but I'm still holding out for more info after Wii U. I'm not buying all those games again.
It comes down to expecting AA as a minimum requirement when docked as a "home console" in 2017 playing a cartoony game.
Well considering DQH is gorgeous on PS4, this is very disappointing from new tech, with a cartoony game.
If this is really the tv version of this game it's a terrible prediction of what's to come.
It's not just that either. It's assuming you will have another OS like Wii U, where you are totally disconnected. You won't know if your friends are on, what they are playing, etc.
Maybe some people like that privacy in 2017, but to me it feels old, disconnected, and out of touch.
Yeah but it's supposed to do both.
Good points.
Could have been ok but they refused to ditch the gamepad. That held the cost too high.
Great article.
Granted Switch and Zelda will run you $400 with tax. Not bad, but they could have included a game of some sort, even an old VC game.
It's not hypocrital at all. There is ONE AAA game and zero 3rd party games. That is pretty bad.
Next I'll have to buy 4K Rumble gloves, $99.99.
That's what they are, the new gamepad. Unnecessary cost imo.
I turn rumble off. It wastes battery life and is annoying.
The joy-cons are the new Wii U gamepad. Their new tech they will try and push that will keep Switch expensive.
Agreed. I don't see this price of admission argument with only 1 game available that can be played on their last system. Yes, I am not including the other mini-games people are comparing to actual full fledged games.
The system is obviously not ready yet. No online, no chat app until summer, no VC, no trophies, no online pricing.
If not for Zelda, there would be no point in buying this and all of it's expensive accesories, yet.
I would have liked to see Skyrim or at least 1 3rd party game. There is only Zelda, the rest are not major games.
Not surprised. I think I have 84 games in my library. I never felt those other consoles had a ton of great games.
