"Better" seems to be a matter for interpretation here. Certain details are exaggerated on the XB1 version due to lack of scattering. If you find that "better" then good for you. It is actually less realistic though.
IX was my favorite also but it has held up quite well vs some other FFs. I would love to eventually see a remake of it, but a few others need it first. FFVIIs blocky character models are a major problem for alot of newer gamers trying to play it for the first time. IMO FFVIII should be next. Its more realistic visual style has suffered greatly. The older 2D FFs like IV and VI have also held up quite well and are still easily enjoyable today.

Memory Stick Duo was created by Sony and first used in the PSP but it wasn't technically proprietary. It quickly became useable on PCs also. You could move CFW loaders from a PC to a PSP using them. You can't do that with the PS Vitas cards.

It all has to do with optimisation. Gflops/Tflops represent the overall power of a piece of hardware. It factors in every aspect of the hardware and how it functions, and is actually the only spec that is an accurate indicator of speed. There is far more to a CPU than just number of cores. Each core of even a mid range PC CPU is several times more powerful than the Jaguar cores in the PS4.

Go into the Nvidia control panel > Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings, and change DSR - Factors to 4.00x. You should then be able to select 3840x2160 in the games options. Make sure DSR - Smoothing is set to 0% also.
