Not completely true. Adding things like improved meshes, tessellation, parallax mapping, etc, it is possible to make games on older engines look better than non modded games on newer engines. Improved lighting alone can take a game a long way. It takes a ton of work but it is possible. Excluding character models, i have the PC version of both Morrowind and Oblivion looking better than the console versions of Skyrim. My PC copy of Skyrim easily looks twice as good as anything currently on the ...

Beat me to it. Was going to say they would have needed to hook this person up to a powered exoskeleton for the last couple days and zombie dance them. With constant physical exertion, they actually most likely wouldn't have lasted 2 days.

Better characters, Better story, Better combat system, Better world, Better music.

The only step back it made was towards the roots of FF. It was the best FF game since VI. If anything, it was underrated.

A 15yo kid was just recently convicted of domestic terrorism and sentenced to 25 years without parole in federal prison just for swatting.

This kid did that plus threatened to take down an airliner. Also the FBI enjoys making brutal examples of people who fack with computer networks, regardless of age. Being convicted of even a small fra...

If the kid had been in the U.S, he would probably have been sentenced to ~300 years without parole in a maximum security federal prison.

I have a launch 60GB PS3 and it is still whisper quiet. Even in an otherwise silent room, i can barely hear it. My second gen slim PS3 and Slim 360 are both far noisier.

If yours is noisy, it probably has a really dusty fan. The cover on the first gen PS3s comes off really easy so you can clean the fan without much trouble.

@rpgenius:

The PS3 was actually one of Sonys better made and more reliable systems. The launch PS3s have around a 1% fai...

@LordMaim:

Hopefully it is nothing like FFXIII. FFXIII's combat system was brutally bad. That is the one thing that has kept me from being able to play the game for more than a few hours. If they do turn based, it should be like FFX.

@Septic:

The original warranty was only 1 year and the extension didn't happen until 2 years in. Also the original warranty required the user to pay shipping costs both ways, which was not cheap, especially if you lived outside the U.S. Then you had to wait on average 3 weeks to get the system back. Alot of people also for some reason do not know about manufacturers warranties. They assume the 3 month store warranty is all they have.

There were forum post...

Yeah, horrible decision to price it $200 below manufacturing cost. They could have released a cheaper system but it would have been half as powerful and wouldn't have had a blu-ray drive.

The cheapest standalone blu-ray player at the time was $1200 and it wasn't as good as the one in the PS3.

@Aloren:

Cutting out the Blu-ray drive wouldn't have reduced the cost to $400. They would have needed to cut the Cell CPU also.

@AndrewLB:

Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition on the PS3 was completely unplayable but Bethesda refused to do anything about it.

The game ran around 5fps average and would constantly freeze up the entire system, forcing a hard shutdown.

Your hands are symmetrical but the Xbox Ones controller layout isn't. With the left analog stick higher up, your left hand thumb has to stretch further to reach it. Optimally the left analog should be short and concave while the right is long and convex. That gives the best combination of comfort for character movement while getting speed and accuracy in aiming.

Your memory seems a bit sketchy. The DS3 had the smallest analog deadzones last gen. The 360s were nearly twice the size.

If the world ever gets messed up, the most valuable items will be distilled water, toilet paper & AA/AAA batteries (or their equivalent at the time). It is unlikely any form of actual currency will be used. Everything will be direct trades.

The word "Best" implies something that is quantifiable. It isn't a matter of opinion. Favorite is personal opinion.

I just wish the left analog and d-pad were position swappable. My hands are not asymmetrical, the analogs shouldn't be either. Also for fighting games, having the d-pad up in the higher left position is much more efficient.

@Ka7be:

For $150 i'm glad it doesn't have a built in battery pack. 4-5 years and you have to throw out the entire controller and buy a new one. With this design, you can either use AAs or buy a play and charge kit and have a removable rechargeable pack.
