Nintendo have never really done digital sales though, as far as I remember.
For me it is mainly that games are discounted already 2-3 months after release. So the only time I buy a game day 1 is if I am really excited about it (FF XV, Nioh, DS3). For the most part, waiting for a bit you can get the same game on sale for half the price. F.e. I was thinking about getting Uncharted 4, wait for 3 months and got Uncharted and ROTTR for less than 1 full game.

I have never owned an XBOX (play exclusively on PS4) but the amount of random bashing in every topic is just ridiculous and makes PS4 gamers look bad.

Nice read. Although I personally do not mind the microtransactions (since I refuse to buy them in any game) I agree that the backlash is not equal between developers. I think, as someone else mentioned, this is because of A) the quality of the game and B) these are SP focused games, so people see the extra mode as something optional. I am pretty sure that most peopled that played TLOU have never touched the MP, which also means its less of an issue.

Maybe, but then why charge people 40-50 dollars just so you can show off your consoles feature? I am assuming "regular" games also use the feature, but those might actually be worth playing.

ESO has had a steadily increasing playerbase for months now. Its a cool game if you want to play an MMO with lots of content without monthly fees (and a low price point as well)
