Why can't we play offline with bots. To be honest, i was was expecting offline play with at least bots, even if the 360 version had no splitscreen co-op.
The reason for "online only" is not the multiplayer, it is the microtranscations stuffed in the game, which are stored on the server side instead of locally, as for most games.
Especially if they make a sequel to TLOU. Why alienate your audience by not letting them play the very first part on new hardware. PS Now is good and all but it is streaming service and won't be out in majority of the markets until a long while.

On the topic, the game looks really nice. One of the best looking next gen exclusives for sure.
Nintendo might have a few like Majora's Mask 3D and new Pokemon while Sony will probably announce JRPGs that they promised and perhaps 1-2 mid-tier projects for VITA.
Well... to be honest, they would be technically working on a new project so this isn't really surprising. Now if he only hinted at the next project with some words like "space", "platformer" or something :P

I am not denying this rumor, contrary to what people might be thinking with my comment. I just hate to see this trend of calling everyone an 'industry insider', especially for someone who has no such prior track record. At least Thuway, DemonNite and Famousmortimer have a good track record in this case, not shinobi. It doesn't really make this rumor false, since it is plausible enough and we already heard about Thief/Watchdog res from Thuway.
