So much freedom that they denied several pitches for a new KI game and made them work on Kinect sports. And to rub it in they let another studio with a questionable track record actually make a new KI. You should read more things developers have said throughout the years before they started Playtonic and stopped badmouthing them in order to also release on xbox.
The problem is that nobody is actually doing MICRO transactions and the value always sucks.
If you consider 60$ gets you a game engine, tens of thousands of textures, hundreds of character models, music, video and all kinds of game modes and mechanics, then how is 5$ for a single texture fair by any means?
I too have supported developers with microtransactions, but they are those who make free to play games that aren't really p2w. Think stuff like Path of Exile.
Sure, but it also had a lot of technical issues. Fans have fixed the game over the years but man it sucked having the game crash over and over. Releasing on the same day as Half Life 2 also didn't help with sales. I'm pleasantly surprised they're making a sequel regardless.
Honestly the footage that was shown was pretty rough. Glad they delayed it unlike the first game.
It's true honestly, this game is a snooze fest. The announcement of a sequel being in development doesn't make me happy either. All the charm, memorable items and music were thrown under the bus in favor of appealing to the new generation of gamers that apparantly loves to walk around giant empty maps with no purpose whatsoever. I can't enjoy the game because I see straight thru the façade. As long as developer teams don't get bigger, the time required to make the game st...
You'll see this happening more often when cloud gaming becomes a real thing. No more executable to run? Welp guess we just load some servers in the truck.
Ever considered people like the games but just don't want yet another dust collecting console in their living room?
Ever considered people still buy the games they play on emulators?
You can thank Nintendo for "current gen emulation" which is caused by picking the easiest architecture to reverse engineer with public documentation all over the net coupled with underpowered hardware for 3 freaking generations and counting. Emulation isn't just a matter of pir...
The industry is rotten to the core. People that think this is not a problem ARE the problem. They are the main cause of shitty business practices being able to continue. They're also going to ensure companies will go full cloud gaming in the future and then there is nothing more you can do. No mods, no private servers, no preservation, all while bleeding your wallet dry with subscription fees and microtransactions. Thanks degeneration zero.
And this is one of the downsides of using weaker hardware and an ARM architecture. Compile some code for ARM and look at it in a debugger, it's so much easier to reverse than x64 assembly. We're going to see many commercial games from a current ten system run at full speed on PC in a not so distant future. Anyone who's writing any kind of emulator is doing God's work.
When you find more joy in games released by indie developers these days.
It doesn't have to. This port isn't made for you or me. It's made for people that exclusively own a Switch and/or love the portable experience. Franchise exposure is a win/win scenario. They can port it to a toaster for all I care.
Thank you for this amazing oppertunity. I want to learn more about all your offers. Please send me additional information to customerexperience@ea.com.
Thank you and have a good day!
Didn't have any issues with the controller personally, just had to get used to the different grip styles.
But sure the second analog stick in newer controllers was a huge improvement.
If AMD does get close Nvidia will just release new cards and go lolpricedrop.
The only reason why cards are so expensive right now is because AMD fails to be competitive.
Even if they were, their drivers still suck, they don't closely work together with devs to optimize games like Nvidia does either so the raw benchmarks don't mean shit. Maybe I'm wrong, but for the past decade they haven't released a single card that didn't have a plethora of issues and ...
Not really I thought BotW was the worst 3D Zelda. But hey that's coming from someone that realizes bigger environments and content costs tons of time and money, much more so than a traditional game. Since none of these things are happening and the game needs to be sold at a normal price, you'll end up with a stretched out overworld with very little actual content. In short, I see right through the façade and I just can't enjoy it.
Only happens in the communities of the newer games somehow. Not sure why but they seem to attract the most fucked up ppl.
"Behind the big blockbusters" case closed and extremely weak argument.
If I kill someone but still donate to charity it doesn't make me any less of an asshole.
As long as they have garbage pay 2 win mechanics nobody's stance is going to change, even if they try easing us in we see right through all the bs due to past experiences.
Thank god for technology and social media. It used to be downright impossible to influence others, now it's actually...
That's because Microsoft didn't give Rare the creative freedom to do what they wanted.
I can assure you quite a lot of people from back in the day are still at Rare and they are definitely capable of releasing something good. A lot of games were pitched to Microsoft that could have been amazing if they were ever greenlit. But hey, we're talking about a company that thought buying Rare meant they owned Donkey Kong.
The fact that KI turned out good was nothing shor...
Oh noes a whole 10$ more for a media format that's vastly superior to optical media in every way since there is no seeking and they also don't scratch up just by looking at it.
Keep in mind this only says physical. You're paying 10$ more for a storage solution that's fast and doesn't degrade over the years.
4.2/10 on metacritic, thousands of big youtubers criticizing the game and yet the game is a major success financially. Just goes to show that casuals are the biggest audience and whatever you do, it doesn't fucking matter whatsoever lmao.
