Sure you save 10$ but since the data carries over you could also have some decent gear when most people have just the starting set. I have seen people pay more for outfits that do nothing but change appearance.

Don't worry unlike the ps3 its not gonna cost more to get a equal performance.An yes it actually cost more to make ps3 games look the same as 360 games.This was the major reason why they aimed for platform parity.Why spend millions more on the ps3 version to make it look somewhat better.
Now with PS4 an XB1 the roles are extremely different not only is the ps4 easier to work with its also more powerful.It will cost more to dev on XB1 then PS4 this gen.

@Godoftheweek yea the EE Chip was not easy to work with. Since ps2 had the user base devs had to figure it out. It was complex but was able to do some impressive things if you took the time to learn it.Similar to the Cell Processor in that area.However the PS3 didn't have the massive market share to force devs to have to learn to pull out its full power,well near it anyway.
I expect a little more then 8gigs when it releases here.Also a DS4 because by then PS4 will have been out.An they want to be able to say work's with all Vita games.We need that touch pad for that.
I expect it will release in the west but with some improvements. Larger storage and upscaling to 1080p. There is money to be made releasing it in the west, money Sony needs.
That depends on how you do it,playing it in background no it wouldn't. Having it play through the game though yes you could consider it a mod.
