Yes light of darkness it's obviously not illegal to make an emulator. That is not taking copyrighted material. Your using your own resources to make a product. It is however illegal to steal video games.
Also just not on a legal standpoint just on a moral and love for game standpoint you shouldn't do so. If you love what Nintendo is offering than you support them. Supporting them always them to make more of the games you want to play.

If you don't own a Nintendo console it's pretty barren. Ratchet and clank is barley a platformer kinda not really one but I can understand if some people consider it one. Their is definatley no challenging platforming in ratchet.
Not to say ratchet is a bad game, I love it. Just not for its platforming elements

Than you could put that same logic to the last of us or any other game you like that you thought deserved the score. That's the problem with your logic is it can be used against you for games you think deserve their scores. Metacritic I believe is a good bet as it is an average. Even though some websites are trolls and review low for clicks. That's something that happens to all games so it's even.
Skyward sword has a 93 on metacritic it was a damn fun game.

Playing old games is fun. Especially the ones you haven't played before. Jus bought fire emblem shadow dragon for ds and having a blast. Got into fire emblem after the mobile game. It's really great to go out of your tastes and try something new.
If your sick of old games, your probably sick of the similar games you play as well. Branch out and discover.
