Fair article. I can see what they mean because at the end of the day every game is about personal preference. So why not write about why you aren't keen on it. After all it's a hot topic right now and he didn't bash the game as such.
I wonder what will be missing in Gran Turismo 7 at launch? No cars perhaps so for the first few months until an update all you have are the drivers floating their way around the track. Actually now I've typed that it sounds like fun.
I was just kidding people, haha
Don't you mean IF it releases on PC ;)
You forgot about the amount of free games with PlayStation Plus. I know that's an extra cost but if they are using it to stream the PS4 then you'd assume they already have Plus for online play if nothing else. Plenty of top class Vita games have been offered through Plus.
Bonus!
Simple answer is YES, if they market it right.
If Apple TV can sell 13 million and the Vita TV matches it's features and plays games then sure why not? After all I can't think of anything Apple TV has that couldn't be done by Vita TV e.g. on demand services, streaming media from computers & YouTube. The last two aren't confirmed but if the Vita can do it then why not the TV version? Providing the price conversion put them at a similar cost of course.
At exactly the second I typed mine. Bad timing, lol
Yeah good point because the PlayStation One, PlayStation 2, Nintendo 64 and every other console before them were far better looking and were designed for TVs. Note the sarcasm here.
They may have been meant for portable but they don't look terrible on a normal TV. Sure if you put them on a huge huge TV then it won't look anywhere near as good as on the Vita itself but it isn't just a Vita for the TV. Most of the extra features including PS4 remote play and TV serv...
They aren't bringing it yet...

Translate this Japanese FAQ and it says it there. Sony facts! - http://www.jp.playstation.c...
I'm not sure if you can use it strictly as a second PS4. You can certainly remote play through your own PS4 but that's only mirroring it really. If you can use it as a second one as well though then that's amazing.
You can however use it as it's own Vita console so if you already have one then you can play one against the other.
I could of sworn reading somewhere they can use touch features through an onscreen mouse pointer or something. Obviously it's not the same, or as ideal, as using the Vita itself but I believe there are ways around it. You never know though once the PS4 is out they could piggieback onto the touch pad on the DualShock 4 as an option. Hmm
I wonder what effect it'll have on all the YouTube gamers out there. Especially on the PS4 the sharing of content is being given a huge push. Will they become less of a novelty because anyone can stream content without having to buy a capture device?
I watch plenty of YouTube gamers but don't know much about the streaming community. Will next gen increase it?
A bit of a pessimistic article but I can see where they are coming from. However I see it more as potential with the features available. Only a very naive person would be disappointed if every day with PlayStation 4 didn't turn out like that advert.
There's no real need to over-analyse it all though.
Very thorough answer indeed. Believe me I do understand your point however I can also see why some people have jumped to the conclusions that you despise. As I exampled before those small points have clearly been blown out of proportion and assumptions have been made. So partially it's Sonys fault for not being clearer to those that need things spelling out for them and probably the timing of the 2DS announcement. I bet a lot see this, just in terms of timing, as Sony's answer.
I'm not saying you are wrong by any means I'm just saying there are plenty of things in conference, said and shown, that hint towards the focus towards kids being the audience. They'd be mad not to given that the 3DS is the market leader over there and they would rightly want a slice of that audience.
1:40 yes they mention that it's to appeal to women and children in relation to the colours specifically but that's part of the redesign so yes it is to appeal to them. Unless they reveal that the current Vita will come in those colours then the point still stands. Not that it's a big point. Plus the fact that most of the people on the stage are kids, or youths, sends out the message too.
No it may not be much cheaper but at the end of the day it IS cheaper. That t...
It's being labelled a budget version because it's cheaper, even if not by much. Simple as that. That's why they've gone for the LCD display, primarily to save cost. It also clearly helps increase battery life which is handy.
As for it being for children, they specifically said in their conference it's to appeal to a broader audience including ladies and children. Mystery solved :)
Stupid stupid article.
1) It only has 1GB built in storage? The vanilla Vita has none and both have expandable storage. On that subject the memory cards have recently got cheaper. POINT FAILED!
2) The LCD screen. It may be a bit less stunning to look at than the OLED but I highly doubt it'll somehow ruin all those games out there. As for your Vita XL suggestion, how would they make a more affordable console with bigger screen? POINT FAILED!
I'll save you the time reading it. It isn't on Wii U which makes him a little sad and he doesn't like it because of the same tired things that everybody anti-GTA person focuses on e.g. violence and strippers. Call of Duty and many other games where the main aim is to kill people manage to avoid comments like this but yet GTA always gets hammered for it. Yeah Rockstar may push boundaries more because it's open world but I'd hazard a guess that in CoD you kill more people pe...
