PS1 and PS2 were industry leaders in a very convincing fashion. I think most everyone expected the PS3 to continue that, and up to this point--it hasn't. (Despite me thinking it's a fantastic system)
Different things to different people, but as a cash generator, it's just not where it needs to be right now. I think 2009 will change that though.

MadWorld is one of the very few Wii games I'm looking forward to.
And I think soccer moms and the media complaining would be good for the game...more people will hear about it and hopefully buy it.

I'm not an "Xbot" or whatever. Wasn't even a sentence to "troll". In fact, I'm using my PS3 right now and I think Sony has, bar none, the best exclusive lineup for gamers in 2009. However, when you're growing at 40% and you're still behind significantly, there's a problem.
Maybe 2009 will solve it, maybe not. It'll be a good year for PS3 gamers in 2009 either way--it just remains to be seen if it'll be a good year for Sony financially for the PS3.

It's likely that it started, yes...but any concrete details are very suspect at this point, as they'd be testing out ideas...ideas that will most definitely shift by the time a PS4 actually does come to market.
